Paraguay adds another day without records of positive cases of COVID-19

ASUNCI?N, Apr 26 (Xinhua) - Paraguay's Health Minister Julio Mazzoleni reported that this Sunday there were no new positive cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total figure to 228 confirmed in the South American country.
The official also reported on the recovery of eight other patients, thus adding a total of 93, while the number of deceased remains at nine, after completing 47 days of sanitary confinement.
This is the third day, in less than seven days, in which there are no new cases of the disease in the country, remembering that next May 3 the total quarantine is lifted and an intelligent quarantine will begin to be implemented with more flexible measures for the Pauline revival of the economy.
In his usual report on data updates through his official Twitter account, the Secretary of State reported that a total of 295 samples were processed on the date, all of which were negative.
Regarding the current situation of the other patients, he commented that only two of them are hospitalized and that the rest remain in home isolation under permanent health surveillance.
As for those confirmed by department of residence, he noted that Central registers the largest number of cases with a total of 98, while the capital Asuncion has so far added a total of 83 infected patients.
Other departments with positive cases of COVID-19 are Alto Paran? (11), Amambay (8), Caaguaz? (7), Canindey? (4), Cordillera (3), Itap?a (3), Boquer?n (2), Guair? (2) , Misiones (2), Paraguar? (2), Caazap? (1), ?eembuc? (1) and San Pedro (1).
Regarding the incidence by sex and age, he referred that the male population represents 53 percent and the female population 47 percent, with the majority age group being 20 to 29 years old with 61 confirmed.
