FAISALABAD: Another patient of dengue fever died at Allied Hospital here on Thursday while 28 new cases of dengue were reported in the district.

Bashiran Bibi suffering from dengue fever was under treatment in Allied Hospital Faisalabad where she died today while a woman Nasreen Bibi had died of dengue fever on September 30.

According to Executive District Officer (EDO) Health, Dr Abdur Rauf, 28 new dengue patients were reported here on Thursday. Out of them, 20 patients were brought from various parts of Faisalabad while 4 others belong to Lahore, 2 from Toba Tek Singh and one each from Sahiwal and Nankana Sahib.

At least 14 more people have died of dengue fever in Pakistan's Lahore city,according to media person reports.

The latest deaths pushed the toll to 208 with an overall 24,342 cases reported in Punjab province, the daily said.

The Punjab health department, however, put the toll at 186 (168 in Lahore alone), confirming only nine deaths during the past 24 hours.

LAHORE: Killer Dengue continues to plague the city and on Saturday seven people including three women lost their lives to the virus, a report said. The toll now stands at 195 in Punjab while 175 of the deaths have taken place in Lahore.

According to sources, 312 new cases of Dengue have been confirmed which has increased the numbers of patients to 14,760 in Punjab while 12,761 in Lahore. 14,448 patients have been cured from the virus so far.

Even considering the lag between media and official reporting, I think Dawn's figure of 217 for Lahore alone is a bit high. 194 confirmed fatalities from Punjab, and 12 from other regions puts the official total at 206 in all.

56 dengue cases in Abbottabad

Peshawar?District Abbottabad has the highest number of 56 patients of dengue fever in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa followed by Mansehra with 37, Peshawar 34, Haripur 29 and Mardan 25.

According to dengue fever updates in the province issued by the Provincial Health Department, 234 cases were confirmed against the reported cases of 557 so far on Monday. 60 patients were still admitted in various hospitals throughout the province while the death toll remains confined to 5. 84 patients had travel links with Punjab.

LAHORE - As many as six more people succumbed to the deadly dengue virus in the provincial capital here on Friday.
According to details, three people died in Services Hospital and one person each in Ganga Ram Hospital, CMH and Mayo hospital.
In Services Hospital, a 25-year-old resident of Gaja Pir Shafique, 50-year-old Nasir Bakhsh of Ichhra and 30-year-old Saba Zafar of Gulshan-e Ravi passed away. All of them were shifted to the hospital last day.
Meanwhile, 60-year-old Abdul Ghafoor of Raj Garh, who was under treatment in Ganga Ram Hospital for the last two days, succumbed to the deadly virus. Also, 55-year-old Kaneez Fatima of Fateh Garh was being treated in CMH for last four days, and 65-year-old Zainab of Misri Shah, who was under treatment in Mayo Hospital, passed away.
The deadly virus has so far claimed 227 lives in Punjab, out of which 207 patients belonged to Lahore.

Dengue in Punjab: Rs0.5m compensation for families of victims

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif announced a compensation of Rs500, 000 for the families of the dengue victims, while three more people succumbed to the virus in Punjab on Saturday.

The chief minister, in a meeting on Saturday, said that the government is implementing a comprehensive plan to combat the deadly virus.

He stressed that the doctors should put in extra hours in the government hospitals to help fight the disease.

Meanwhile, two people died in Mayo Hospital Lahore, while a woman passed away in Multan.

At least 299 people have died due to the deadly virus in Punjab, out of which 213 are from Lahore.

Three more die of dengue in the city

LAHORE: The number of deaths caused by dengue in the city mounted to 252 as three more died of the disease in Lahore on Saturday. Muhammad Asad, 62, a resident of Wassanpura, and Khadija, 20, of Chauhan Road, lost the battle against dengue at Mayo Hospital, while Arif, 29, lost his life at Sheikh Zayed Hospital. Out of 383 new dengue cases, 74 were tested positive at Mayo Hospital, 48 at Jinnah Hospital, 44 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 28 at Services Hospital, 27 at Shaikh Zayed Hospital, 24 at Lahore General Hospital, 21 at Institute of Public Health and 19 at Children?s Hospital, while the remaining cases were reported from other public sector hospitals and private healthcare centres in the provincial capital.

LAHORE: Dengue fever claimed four more lives on Sunday, with the death toll reaching 211 in the provincial metropolis and 231 in the Punjab.

According to the data, the number of Dengue victims is increasing and the total has now reached 14470 in Lahore after 221 more tested positive.

Meanwhile, the sources also confirmed 244 more cases in the province after which the total number of patients has soared to 16793.

LAHORE – The dengue fever on Saturday claimed three more people, including one woman, taking the death toll to 252. The ruthless virus also forced hundreds of Lahorites to approach hospitals for preliminary tests, confirming 403 new cases and as such taking the overall tally to 27429.
Khadija Bibi (22), a resident of Chohan Road, and Assad Mahmood (62) of Wasanpura breathed their last at Mayo Hospital while Arif Sheikh (29) of Firdous Market, Gulberg died at Shaikh Zayed Hospital.
Out of 403 new cases, 95 were tested positive at Mayo Hospital, 39 at Services Hospital, 37 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 30 at Shaikh Zayed Hospital, 29 at Jinnah Hospital, 28 at Children’s Hospital, 16 at Institute of Public Health, 05 at Lahore General Hospital while 124 cases were reported from other public sector hospitals and private healthcare centres in the City.

Dengue death toll reaches 235 with 5 more deaths in Lahore

In the last 24 hours, 244 new cases of dengue have been reported in Lahore.
LAHORE: As the Punjab government struggles to battle the spread of the dengue epidemic, the deadly virus has claimed five more lives in Lahore on Sunday.

Three people have died at Mayo Hospital, while two succumbed to the fever at Ganga Ram Hospital.

At least 235 people have died of the dengue virus in Punjab, out of which 218 are from Lahore.

In the last 24 hours, 244 new cases of dengue have been reported in Lahore, while over 1,300 patients are being treated at various hospitals.

Six more fall prey to menace of dengue in city

LAHORE: At least six more persons lost their lives at the hands of the deadly dengue virus across the metropolis with no respite in the spell of disease that has taken more than 250 lives so far.

More than 360 new cases of dengue fever were reported across the metropolis on Sunday, out of which 72 were brought to the Mayo Hospital, 44 in Ganga Ram, 50 in Jinnah Hospital, 17 in Shaikh Zayed, 19 in General Hospital, 12 in Institute of Public Health, 19 in Children?s Hospital and 96 cases were reported in different private hospitals across the city.

The dengue victims included 25-year-old Fatima, resident of Tajpura Scheme, 70-year-old Abdul Majeed and 70-year-old Abdul Rasheed, who were under treatment in the Mayo and other hospitals of the city. One of the victims of dengue, named Shahzad, passed away while under treatment at the Social Security Hospital.

Peshawar?According to the dengue fever updates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 220 cases were confirmed against the reported cases of 538 so far.

62 patients were still under treatment in various hospitals of the province while 05 died so far as result of this fatal disease. 84 patients had travel links with Punjab.

(12 hours ago) Today LAHORE, Oct 16: Six more people, including two women, died of dengue fever in various hospitals of the Punjab capital on Sunday.

Reports said three patients ? Fatima Bibi, 25, of Tajpura Scheme, Rasheed, 70, (Rehman Scheme Service Road) and Abdul Majeed, 70, (Makhanpura) ? died of dengue fever at Mayo Hospital, Akhtar Bibi, 60, (Mozang) and Muhammad Hanif, 50, at Services and Muhammad Shahzad, 25, (Chuhng) died at social security infirmary.

According to a health department report, during the last 24 hours 371 new patients, including 320 in Lahore alone, were tested positive for the disease. It said four people died of the dengue fever during the last 24 hours, raising official death toll to 231 including 207 in the Punjab capital alone.
