The dengue fever outbreak has almost come to an end in the district with the continuous fall in mercury during last two weeks.
The allied hospitals in town have not been receiving any significant influx of dengue fever suspects for last two weeks, while during last 48 hours, the three hospitals admitted only two dengue fever suspects. The special counters set up for screening dengue fever suspects at allied hospitals, however, are operating.
The three hospitals received only 171 new suspects of the infection during last three weeks that took the total number of dengue fever suspects registered at the three hospitals to 2,632 of which 810 were tested positive for the infection by National Institute of Health, Islamabad, while 1,482 negative.

It is important that during the recent dengue fever spike, the allied hospitals admitted a total of 2,632 dengue fever suspects of which 810 were tested positive while 1,482 negative. Results in as many as 340 cases are awaited by the three hospitals.
Of 810 patients tested positive for dengue fever, 808 have been discharged after cure while two died of the infection.
