Two people died from dengue fever and 10 were admitted to Dera Ghazi Khan district headquarters (DHQ) hospital on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Samina Bibi, a resident of Tribal Areas, and Manzoor Nasir. DG Khan executive district officer (health) Dr Pervez said most of the dengue patients belonged to rural areas.

LAHORE: At least two patients have died of dengue fever in the Lahore General Hospital, while Abdul Qadir Gilani, the son of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, and MNA Sheikh Rohail Asghar are also among hundreds of new cases of dengue virus confirmed in the City on Sunday.

The dengue virus has assumed proportion of an epidemic in the City as a total of 190 new patients of dengue fever positive have been reported in different hospitals of the provincial metropolis. The total number of dengue fever cases has reached 3,335 in the City, which belied Health Departmentís claim of less than 1,500 patients confirmed so far across the province.

According to details, Saeed Anwar, 36, and Farzand Ali, 70, both residents of Yasin Town, Ghazi Road, were admitted to the Lahore General Hospital and were diagnosed with dengue fever. Both the patients succumbed to dengue on Sunday.

Two dengue patients die
LAHORE, Sept 6 (APP): Two patients of dengue fever died here on Tuesday. According to details, Sajid Ilyas (22) of Gulshan Ravi and Sarwar (52) of Madina Colony Shalimar road were diagnosed with dengue fever. Sajid was admitted to Services Hospital a couple of days ago where he died while Sarwar died at home.

The doctors said that death of Sajid occurred due to dengue shock syndrome and deficiency of platelets.
Meanwhile, 319 more people were confirmed with dengue fever today.

LAHORE: At least three more patients died on Tuesday due to dengue fever in the city, taking the death toll to seven in the provincial capital.

However, the Health Department has confirmed only a single death due to dengue fever, saying the other two deaths were not a result of dengue fever.

According to reports, the three dengue victims were: Sajid Ilyas, 22, a resident of B-Block, Gulshan Ravi, died Services Hospital; Muhammad Sarwar, 52,a resident of Madina Colony, dies in Shalimar Hospital; Nadeem, 42, a resident of Nishat Colony, died of the fever in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. The deceased?s death certificates suggested that all dengue had claimed their lives.

A recent outbreak of dengue fever in Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab has led to the death of at least 10 people and affected 2,256 others, an official report said Friday.

About 300 people took blood tests Thursday and around 200 of them were found to be dengue-affected, Xinhua reported citing statistics released by the National Institute of Health.

Severe Dengue Outbreak Kills 11, Affects over 2,000 in Pakistan's Punjab Province


Lahore, Sep 9 (BNO News): An ongoing dengue fever outbreak in Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab has killed at least eleven people so far and affected thousands of people, officials said on Friday.

According to statistics released by the Health Department, the number of dengue patients reported so far is 2,100, including 2,042 in the provincial capital of Lahore. Eleven people have died from dengue, a mosquito-borne viral infection, in Lahore, according to Ary News.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has asked hospitals to acquire more platelet kits needed for treatment and called on officials from different departments to increase health measures to fight the virus.

ISLAMABAD - A total of 10 patients have been hospitalised after being tested positive for dengue virus in two major government-run hospitals of the federal capital and more patients are coming daily, however no extensive outbreak like Punjab has occurred so far.

According to National Institute of Health, so far total suspected cases of dengue fever have been 2,708 while confirmed cases are 2,413 across the country. In Islamabad so far 28 confirmed cases have been reported while 2170 in Punjab, 26 in Rawalpindi, 176 in Sindh, 8 in KP and five are reported in AJK. So far four deaths have been reported due to fever; one patient died in Islamabad, one in Lahore, one in Karachi, one in Noshehra and no death has been reported from Balochistan.

Dr. Rizwan Qazi from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences told TheNation that at present total eight patients are hospitalised and out of them seven have been confirmed positive and one is a suspected patient of the disease. He said 10 to 12 cases of dengue fever have been coming to the hospital daily but all of them are not admitted. Only those who need medical care are admitted but their condition too is not very critical as no patient has been transfused platelets yet...

The health department confirmed the death owing to dengue fever and said the virus had so far claimed the lives of five patients in the city.

Abdullah, 23-year-old resident of Ghazi Road, was shifted to the LGH emergency department with dengue fever symptoms on Friday morning. He was later tested positive for the virus. He, however, died in the evening.

Officials said Karamat Ali and Salamat Ali, both in their early 30s, had been shifted to Surraya Azim Hospital and Services Hospital, respectively, a few days back with dengue symptoms.

They said the duty doctors made all-out efforts to save the patients but they couldn’t survive.

Meanwhile, the officials said 423 new dengue patients were reported in various hospitals of the city on Saturday.

KARACHI: Two patients suffering from the dengue virus died in Karachi, while four new cases were registered on Sunday.

The total number of dengue patients in Sindh has reached 195 out of which 169 cases have been reported in Karachi alone.

Similarly, 142 cases have been reported in Punjab, out of which 132 have been confirmed in Lahore.

LAHORE: Secretary Punjab Mineral Development Corporation, Ataullah Siddiqui died of Dengue fever Monday, Geo News reported. He was hospitalised on Friday after he was diagnosed with the virus.
Siddiqui who joined government services in 1985 leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

His death comes as the number of Dengue patients continues to rise across Punjab and Lahore in particular where over 3,000 cases have been reported. The virus has also claimed the lives of ten people in the province.

Overall, the fever made 744 more victims to head for clinics across the province till the filing of the report for the day.
Also on Monday, the epidemic killed more persons, including Secretary Mineral Development Corporation Attaullah Siddiqui. Atta was under treatment at Doctors Hospital for the last one week. 499 fresh dengue cases in Lahore

SOME 559 new cases of dengue fever, including 499 in Lahore, have been reported during the last 24 hours across the province.

The total number of dengue fever patients in Punjab has reached 4,327 out of which 3,928 belong to the provincial metropolis.

According to the report issued by the Health Department, Punjab, here on Tuesday, at least 389 patients were under treatment for dengue fever in different hospitals of the province. Besides, the second most number of dengue fever have been reported from Faisalabad where total number of such patients has reached 196 after that most number of dengue fever have been registered in Rawalpindi where the number of such patients is 52. Besides, one or two or maximum up to five patients have been reported in other districts of the province.

Although there was an unconfirmed report of the death of a patient due to dengue fever in the City, the Health Department officials claimed that no death had been confirmed due to dengue fever during the last 24 hours.

LAHORE: The dengue virus afflicting Lahore claimed four more lives, including a retired DSP and a boy, on Wednesday.

According to a report of the health department, 412 new dengue cases were confirmed officially in Punjab on Wednesday, 353 of them in Lahore alone.

The report said the number of dengue patients in the province had reached 5,000, including 4118 in Lahore.

Lahore City Traffic police Inspector Saad Azeem told Dawn that his 78-year-old father, retired DSP Syed Fazal Azeem died at the CMH after suffering from the fever for over two weeks as the platelet count continued to drop.

The Medical Director of Children?s Hospital, Prof Dr Ehsan Waheed Rathore, said Ali Ahmad, 14, had died of ?dengue shock syndrome?, a severe form of the disease...

2 more Dengue patients die in Lahore, toll reaches 20

LAHORE - Dengue fever claimed two more lives in Lahore that has increased the toll to twenty on Thursday.
According to media reports, a staff member of Mayo Hospital lost his life after suffering from Dengue whereas the number of Dengue patients is constantly rising in Lahore hospitals.
Patients are facing difficulties in getting admitted to the hospitals and obtaining platelets that are necessary to treat patients suffering from Dengue. This is due to the fact that the number of patients is constantly increasing in the city.
