Re: Indonesian Human Cases Oct 20+

The last post was disturbing on so many levels.

The child played with other children, despite our knowledge that kids are virus factories and continue to manufacture the virus after they appear to be well.

The child refused to be monitored after leaving the hospital.

The child refused the medicine. We can only hope the parents forced the patient was forced to finish the series. For of course, this is precisely how drug resistance occurs.

Re: Indonesian Human Cases Oct 20+

I'm not liking that last story one bit :(Never saw a patient recover so fast,go home and play with whatever he wants, refuse meds..:surrender:Some thing is not right with this picture.

Re: Indonesian Human Cases Oct 20+

Re: Indonesian Human Cases Oct 20+

Must admit the boy is not treated according to the protocol, to put it mildly.

He was a (next door?) neighbour of Dewi Aprilliani, who died oct 22, was tested positive on oct 23 . After this the neighbours, contacts were checked and tested, so the boy could be on Tamiflu from oct 23.

The boy was stated positive on oct 27 and was in hospital for half a day.

He went home, being "the new negative patient" (see last sentence). He was tested negative, after being positive, must be because of (early) Tamiflu?

If you are tested negative, you cannot shed a lot of virus anymore?

</TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=2>JAKARTA (AFP) - The parents of a three-year-old Indonesian boy infected with bird flu have defied hospital orders that he stay in isolation and taken him home, a hospital official said Wednesday.
The boy from Tangerang, a satellite city west of the capital Jakarta, stayed in hospital for just half a day last Saturday, said Sardikin Giriputro, deputy director of Sulianti Saroso hospital.
"We had no choice but to let the boy leave the hospital as his parents insisted on taking their child home," Giriputro told AFP.
He said a patient should remain in isolation until a test showed the infection was over.
Doctors wanted him to remain in isolation to ensure there would be no possibility of human-to-human infection, he said.
Giriputro added that the boy was under home observation by medics from a health centre in Tangerang and Wednesday's report said that his condition was improving. The mother of the boy, Muslimah, told the online Detikcom news agency however that he was in good health and medics only visited initially. "At the beginning, some doctors came here, but they haven't come anymore... My son has recovered, he's now in good health. He isn't taking medicine anymore," she was quoted as saying.:tiphat:

Re: Indonesian Human Cases Oct 20+

Sorry to keep posting, I'm just slightly confused, but's it's early in the day....:)

Just several days since FI was reconciled to RSOB, Widya (9) also was suspected of becoming casualties was expected (suspect) bird flu and could be treated in RSUD Batuaji.

The student of one of the PRIMARY SCHOOL schools in Tanjungriau at once enters maintenance space of the child on October 27 that day.

I have Widya Adm: 10/30. Recon: Sagulung Hosp.

So....Widya was reconciled from RSUD Batuaji. Maybe she/he entered RSUD Batuaji on 10/27, in maintenance space. The only thing that's troubling me is, it says "several days since FI was recon to RSOB". Does 2 days constitute using the word "several"?

Here is where I got my info, Post #121. I now realize I read it wrong. I read 3 days before his child was feverish. Not true. Symptoms began on 10/28.:
