Something seems odd about all three of CT's are in Waterbury, which has a population of about 105,000.

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

yeah Waterbury, CT and Salt Lake County, Utah are bad places to be right now. Actually I read an article advising doctors in Utah to "use their best judgement in treating people with flu symptoms", despite what the CDC and Utah State health guidelines are. I'm guessing that's in regard to antiviral prescriptions. Australia is already rationing Tamiflu. Wonder when we're going to start doing that here in the U.S.?

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

or even worse than rationing, when is Tamiflu going to stop working? It's the only medical treatment we have for H1N1.

I agree. Lack of response to antivirals and increased virulence are what I fear.

BTW, appleblossom - I just want to say "Thank you" for the hard work you've been doing. :applause:

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

thanks again! I corrected for Phoenix and added #10 suspected death in Illinois. Sounds actually like a "confirmed" death to me, but the officials are still hemming and hawing trying to find another reason a healthy 8 year old boy with H1N1 could have died.

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

thanks Dutchy. That's a great list, gives links and references for every reported fatality. Interestingly the FluTracker numbers follow very closely with Wikipedia's, although they are listing 2 deaths in Oregon instead of our 1. The reference link given for the second Oregon death goes to an article about the King County/Seattle death (Washington).

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

I want to congratulate Appleblossom and all the other FT contributors to this thread. It is without a doubt the most authoritative source of information on US Swine Flu mortality.

The contrast between the CDC's count and the count on this thread is noteworthy. Having investigated many of the deaths reported here, I have not found any source of disagreement except perhaps including some of the referenced but not counted cases mentioned in this thread. However, not counting those suspect cases until more data is available is all to the credit of the veracity of those cases counted.

Well done!
