Influenza A: double the number of confirmed cases in Goi?s


The number of confirmed cases of Influenza A in Goi?s more than doubled in recent days. The number of deaths caused by swine flu in Marigo reached 10, confirmed today the Municipal Health Department on the afternoon of Thursday (27). The 9th victim is a woman of 37 years, who died 15 days ago. The 10th victim is a boy of 5 years, who died on Wednesday (26).

The city counts 78 confirmed cases of the illness, 1,867 reports and 58 hospitalized patients - 15 of them in the ICU.

Rises to 55 the number of deaths caused by new flu in Rio

Five deaths were confirmed by the government on Thursday (27).

The state Department of Health of Rio confirmed on Thursday (27) plus five new deaths from flu. In total, 55 people died from the disease in the state.

SAO PAULO - The central region of the State of Sao Paulo confirmed nine new cases of bird flu on Thursday, bringing the total to 58 infected. Santa Cruz, the city with the largest number of confirmed four people with the disease, totaling 19.

Atibaia records the second death caused by new influenza (Sao Paulo state)

The Department of Health Atibaia confirmed another death caused by new influenza viruses. The victim is a man of 35 who died yesterday (26).

This is the second fatal case reported in the city and the third region bragantina.

In the region of the Paraiba Valley and North Coast were 12 confirmed deaths so far.

Rises to 20 the number of swine flu deaths in SC

The Health Department of Santa Catarina confirmed on Friday the deaths of eight people infected with swine flu, a total of 20 deaths in the state. According to data from the Surveillance State, 98 other suspicious deaths are investigated.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health reported 557 deaths in the country, according to data collected until August 22. The deaths occurred in the states of Rio Grande do Sul (98), Rio de Janeiro (55), Santa Catarina (11), Ontario (8), Distrito Federal (2), Brazil (2), Bahia (2), Mato Grosso do Sul (1), Pernambuco (1), Pernambuco (1), Para (1) and Rio Grande do Norte (1).

According to a statement from the government of Santa Catarina, the new victims of swine flu are:

- Residents of the city of Lauro Muller, 74, died in hospital Nossa Senhora da Concei??o, Tubar?o, on August 24. Had pneumoppatia chronic disease and metabolic disease.

- Woman of 38 years, died on August 24 in Sao Paulo hospital in Monaghan. He had chronic lung disease.

- Inhabitant of Bahawalnagar, 57, killed on August 24. He had chronic lung disease and blastomycosis.

Baby one month dies of swine influenza in the interior of SP

Cuiab? - The Secretariat of Health of Mato Grosso confirmed the first death from swine flu in the state. The Central Laboratory of the State of Parana said the positive result for influenza A (H1N1) from one aged 32, who died in the city of Toledo, Parana, near the border with Mato Grosso. The woman lived in the city of Cuiaba, to 212 km from Cuiaba. The husband and two children received medical care in Paran?, were treated and were doing well. On Friday, there was also the first death in the Esp?rito Santo.

The children still at home under monitoring by the city of Toledo, where they stay with relatives. The spouse is receiving home monitoring in Rondonopolis.

The State Laboratory is awaiting the outcome of the other three deaths that occurred in the cities of Sorriso, Rondon?polis and Primavera do Leste.

Hi everyone,

I'm not having any time to post. I'm working out of my usual site, so no net access for me. Just in a more personal note from S?o Paulo state (capital e country areas). Life seems to be normal, but people are concerned. Pregnant women are kept at home. Children got back to school last week and some of them got sick this week. We surely have more deaths than official data. A friend who is nurse told about 10 infect at hospital and 2 deaths in a small city, where the official data shows just 2 infected at hospital. She's keeping her kid out off school this semester. I do not have any confirmation about this data, but I trust her. My cousin sent her son to school last week and he got sick. He is on Tamiflu now, his little brother is infected also. Another person I know sent her kid back to school and he is sick, at public ER they diagnosed Rotavirus. Another family of our relations got it too, 2 parents and 2 kids, recovered. Despite the summer weather, the virus is around. I see people taking more care of themselves in countries areas than in big towns.

Paraná records 195 deaths due to influenza A

According to the latest epidemiological bulletin published by the State Department of Health (SESA) on Monday (31), Paraná has 4931 confirmed cases of influenza A, and 195 had complications and died. Other 2095 cases had negative results.
