Three new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Victoria, leaving a school closed and students tested.

A man in his 50s returned a positive result after he returned to Melbourne from Seattle on March 7 on Virgin Australia flight VA24.

After arriving home, he became unwell with lethargy and a dry cough before developing flu-like symptoms in the days that followed.

He had attended the Mussel and Jazz festival at the South Melbourne Market on March 7 between 2pm and 3.30pm before going to a Rugby Union match at AAMI Park later that day...

New South Wales health authorities have confirmed six more cases of coronavirus in New South Wales, bringing the state's total to 61.

The latest cases include a family member of a resident of the Dorothy Henderson Lodge Aged Care Facility, where an outbreak of COVID-19 killed to elderly residents.

A woman and man, both in their 50s, who had recently arrived in Sydney from the United States were also confirmed to have contracted the virus, NSW Health said in a statement late on Tuesday. The pair were not known to each other...

Woman visited University of Tasmania's Hobart campus before testing positive to coronavirus

The third person to test positive to coronavirus in Tasmania has been identified as a woman in her 30s who flew into Hobart from South America last Sunday, and then spent the day at the University of Tasmania's Sandy Bay campus in Hobart.

Director of Public Health Dr Mark Veitch said authorities had received the flight manifest for Jetstar flight JQ 727, which arrived from Sydney about 10.20pm on Sunday night, and had started contacting people who sat near the woman in rows 13 to 17...

Coronavirus cases in NSW increase to 78 with public advised to 'be alert'

Control measures in NSW have not been escalated but the Premier says the situation is evolving
Coronavirus has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation

...The number of coronavirus cases in NSW has jumped from 65 to 78 in a day... the majority of infections in NSW were acquired overseas and 32 cases were contacts of confirmed cases.

But the source of infection for four of the latest 12 cases is not yet known.

"Overnight we have seen cases diagnosed in people without overseas travel, those cases are being thoroughly interviewed to ensure that we can identify any links to other confirmed cases," she said.

Over 9,000 people in NSW have been tested for COVID-19 which Dr Chant described as "reassuring".

High test numbers mean further spread will be restricted, she said...

Two more COVID-19 deaths confirmed in NSW

NSW Health has confirmed the deaths of two more people from coronavirus, bringing Australia's total death toll to five.
A 90-year-old woman died on Saturday with testing confirming she had COVID-19, NSW Health said in a statement on Sunday night.
She was a resident of the Dorothy Henderson Lodge aged care home where two other residents have died after becoming infected with the virus.
A 77-year-old woman has also died from coronavirus, the department said on Sunday.
The woman flew from Brisbane to Sydney on Friday, a Queensland Health spokesman told AAP...
...It comes as the number of coronavirus cases in NSW jumped by 22 over the 24 hours to 11am on Sunday, taking the total number of infected people in the state to 134.
