- Contact with wild species
As a result of the sensitivity of the Epidemiological Information and Surveillance System of the Official Veterinary Service of Colombia, three (3) new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) have been identified in the departments of Magdalena (municipalities of Remolino and Pivijay) and Bolívar (in the municipality of Mompox), affecting domestic birds (non-poultry) in backyards. These premises are near wetlands and marshes, areas with a significant presence of migratory wild birds. In these areas, tracing and epidemiological investigations are still ongoing.
