    Two more people have died of influenza A (H1N1) in India, taking the toll due to the swine flu pandemic in the country so far to 1332, an official statement said here today.



    One of the deaths was reported during the day from Maharashtra and the other from Haryana, it said.



    Of the total swine flu deaths in the country so far, Maharashtra now accounts for 351, while 276 lives have been lost in Gujarat, 186 in Rajasthan, 146 in Karnataka, 95 in Delhi, 52 in Andhra Pradesh, 39 in Punjab, 38 in Haryana, 37 in Kerala, 25 in Madhya Pradesh, 19 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Uttarakhand, 10 in Chhattisgarh, 8 each in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh, 7 in Tamil Nadu, 6 in Puducherry, 5 in Goa, 4 in Jammu & Kashmir, 3 in Orissa, 2 in Assam and 1 each in Mizoram and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.



    Eight new cases of the flu were reported today - six in Karnataka and one each in Gujarat and Rajasthan.



    With these, the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases of the virus reported in the country so far has gone up to 29,490, the statement added.

      1.Till date, samples from 127706 persons have been tested for Influenza A H1N1 in Government Laboratories and a few private Laboratories across the country and 29522(23.1%) of them have been found positive.

      2. All 32 cases reported during the day are indigenous cases.

      3. Three deaths (Maharashtra) were reported during the day.

      4. Report of two earlier deaths (Madhya Pradesh-1 and Chhattisgarh-1)) has been recieved from the health authorities of the respective states and is reflected in the cumulative total

      4. *Positive report includes samples taken on 19/02/2010 to 21/02/2010.

        2. All 33 cases reported during the day are indigenous cases.

        3. No deaths been reported for the day.

        4. Report of nine earlier deaths (Gujarat-9)) has been deceived from the health authorities of the respective states and is reflected in the cumulative total

          4. Report of ten earlier deaths (Maharashtra-5, Rajasthan-5) has been received from the health authorities of the respective states and is reflected in the cumulative total

              Two more people have died of influenza A (H1N1) in Maharashtra, taking the death toll in India due to the swine flu pandemic so far to 1370, an official statement said here today.



              Both the deaths occurred in recent days and information about them was conveyed by the State authorities to the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare today, it said. No deaths were reported during the day today.



              Besides, two deaths were reported yesterday, too - one each in Maharashtra and Rajasthan - when the Health Ministry had not issued its daily bulletin.



              Of the total swine flu deaths in the country so far, Maharashtra now accounts for 365, while 289 lives have been lost in Gujarat, 193 in Rajasthan, 148 in Karnataka, 95 in Delhi, 52 in Andhra Pradesh, 39 in Punjab, 38 in Haryana, 37 in Kerala, 26 in Madhya Pradesh, 19 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Uttarakhand, 11 in Chhattisgarh, 8 each in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh, 7 in Tamil Nadu, 6 in Puducherry, 5 in Goa, 4 in Jammu & Kashmir, 3 in Orissa, 2 in Assam and 1 each in Mizoram and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

                  India has released only one daily update online in the past 4 days. There has not been an announcement of suspension of the daily updates. It is possible that they have been interrupted by the Holi festival. This report is in lieu of the official press release.

                  One person died of influenza A (H1N1) in Maharashtra today, taking the death toll in India due to the swine flu pandemic so far to 1373, an official statement said.



                  Of the total swine flu deaths in the country so far, Maharashtra now accounts for 368, while 289 lives have been lost in Gujarat, 193 in Rajasthan, 148 in Karnataka, 95 in Delhi, 52 in Andhra Pradesh, 39 in Punjab, 38 in Haryana, 37 in Kerala, 26 in Madhya Pradesh, 19 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Uttarakhand, 11 in Chhattisgarh, 8 each in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh, 7 in Tamil Nadu, 6 in Puducherry, 5 in Goa, 4 in Jammu & Kashmir, 3 in Orissa, 2 in Assam and 1 each in Mizoram and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.



                  The statement said 23 new cases of the flu were reported today, including 18 in Maharashtra, 4 in Karnataka and 1 in Gujarat.



                  With these, the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases of the virus reported in the country so far has gone up to 29,675, the statement added.
