    Panama City, Dec 28 (EFE).- The Panamanian health authorities reported this Wednesday that they detected the first case of monkeypox in a woman, and that the accumulated number of confirmed infections stood at 79.

    "To date, a new case of monkeypox has been registered, adding 79 accumulated cases in the country," of which 78 are men and one woman. The latter "was detected 15 days ago," the Ministry of Health (Minsa) said in a statement.

    The health portfolio specified that 9 cases are active, of which 5 are in home isolation and 4 comply but in health facilities, either because they have risk factors or because their home does not meet the appropriate conditions for it.
