    BC health officials announced 464 new test-positive COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the province to 151,839.

    In a written statement, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix said that there are 2,411 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

    Of the active cases, 52 individuals are currently hospitalized, 24 of whom are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation...

      B.C. records 1,079 new cases of COVID-19 and 5 more deaths over the weekend

      B.C. health officials announced 1,079 new cases of COVID-19 and five more deaths over the last three days, an average of 360 new cases a day and nearly double last weekend's average.

      The seven day rolling average of new daily cases (355) is now at its highest since May 25.

      In a written statement, the provincial health ministry said there are currently 3,036 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

      The new cases by day are as follows:

      Aug. 6-7: 422 new cases
      Aug. 7-8: 364 new cases
      Aug. 8-9: 293 new cases

      A total of 68 people are in hospital. Of those, 20 are in intensive care down from 19 last week.

      Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up by 28 per cent from last Tuesday, when 53 people were in hospital with the disease and up 58 percent from two weeks ago...

          BC health officials announced 536 new test-positive COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the province to 153,849.

            British Columbia announced 513 new cases of COVID-19 and one more death on Thursday, as the seven-day rolling average of new cases in the province rises to its highest level since May 21.

            In a written statement, the provincial Ministry of Health said there are currently 3,834 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

            A total of 81 people are in hospital, with 33 in intensive care.

            Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up 40 per cent from last Thursday, when 58 people were in hospital with the disease and have doubled from their 2021 low 18 days ago.

            The number of patients in intensive care is up by about 57 per cent from 21 a week ago. It is the highest number of ICU patients in B.C. with COVID-19 since June 30...

              British Columbia announced 717 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday — the highest daily case count since May 7 when the number was 722.

              No additional deaths were announced on Friday.

              In a written statement, the province said there are currently 4,277 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C., the most since May 22.

              A total of 82 people are in hospital. Of those, 39 are in intensive care, up from 24 a week ago.

              Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up by 58 per cent from last Friday, when 52 people were in hospital with the disease.

              The provincial death toll from the disease is now 1,779 lives lost out of 155,079 confirmed cases to date.

              As of Friday, 82.4 per cent of those 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 72 per cent a second dose.

              So far, 7.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, including 3.3 million second doses...

                B.C. health officials announced Monday there were 1,434 new cases of COVID-19 and one more death over the past 72 hours.

                The cases break down as follows:

                Between Aug. 13-14, Friday to Saturday, there were 532 new cases.
                Between Aug. 14-15, Saturday to Sunday, there were 441 new cases.
                Between Aug. 15-16, Sunday to Monday, there were 461 new cases.

                  In a written statement, the provincial Health Ministry said there are currently 5,296 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

                      It lifted the seven-day moving average for new cases to 556.

                      Hospitalizations, a key metric for measuring the pandemic, climbed to 121 — the highest they have been in nearly two months. Of those patients, 56 were in critical or intensive care, the most since June 8.

                                B.C. reports 867 new cases of COVID-19, highest daily total since late April

                                British Columbia reported a whopping 867 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday along with three additional deaths.

                                Of the new cases, 350 were in the Interior Health region, 165 cases were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 228 were in the Fraser Health region, 63 were in Island Health, and 61 were in Northern Health.

                                The province last reported more than 800 daily cases back in late April. The seven-day average for new cases is 663, the highest total since May 7.

                                Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 have nearly doubled in the past two weeks. There are now 159 people in hospital with the disease, up from 82 on Aug. 13. Eighty-four patients are in intensive care.

                                The three deaths, all in the Interior Health region, bring the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 1,807...
