Anyone can SAY almost anything they want, with or without certainty. However, they can't PROVE anything, without an identification of the etiological agent that caused the fatal bilateral pneumonia (other than the fact that the media will publish utter nonsense, as long as the source has some credentials).

Bilateral pneumonia without an infectious agent??? I think this is a ProMED first!
This tops no H5N1 H2H in central Vietnam in 2005 because an imaginery friend isn't infected.

Re: Russia, ex China: Undiagnosed fatal respiratory illness, train passenger dies

The ProMed moderator may suggest that the lungs edema could be the result of another condition, such as heart failure, or toxic chemical exposures...

It is possible that migrants could have prepared some food or employed cooking device, with release of CO ...

Without details about laboratory findings it remains hard to define the real causative agent of Chinese woman death.

The diagnosis was viral pneumonia, which isn't demonstrated by infections of others.

The report of cerebral edema is not consistent with a chemical or aspiration pneumonia either...

If it was due to CO, more people would be ill. Indeed, any toxic chemical within the vicinity would have made more people ill. I think it is either an infectious disease OR she was deliberately poisoned due to the lack of other sick people on the train that are in close proximity for four days (unless they are not showing symptoms because it is too early).

But if it is to early to show symptoms, "why" are they letting the others out of quarantine? Something isn't being published with the autopsy...

All my speculation of course.
