Covid-19: 46 new infections and 21 healings announced this Sunday
46 new cases of COVID-19 infections were registered this Sunday, April 19, 2020 out of 399 samples, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 847.
The Ivorian Ministry of Health provided the information in its traditional daily update. The services of Minister Eug?ne Aka Aou?l? have also documented 21 new healings and 1 death.
The deceased is male, 62, “hypertensive, diabetic and obese”. In total, the country registers to date 847 confirmed cases, 260 cured and 9 deaths.
Figures that make C?te d'Ivoire at present, the country in the West African sub-region, the most affected by the pandemic pending the development of the situation in neighboring Ghana today.
These two countries have nearly half of the confirmed cases of the disease in this region of Africa. But the Ivorian authorities want to be reassuring.
"The continuous increase in the number of positive cases of Covid-19 clearly shows that the virus is active in our country and that the ascending phase of the pandemic continues," said Dr. Edith Kouassy, technical advisor to the Minister of Health and of Public Hygiene.
She recalled that the growing number of people healed and the small change in the number of deaths, testify to the good quality of patient care.
A reason for the government to congratulate all the actors of the health system, for their dedication and their professionalism in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
