Ahmedabad: Amid the state government's claim of producing good results in curbing swine flu, the deadly H1N1 virus on Monday took five lives across the state taking the death toll to 373 this year. Alarmingly, three out of four deaths were reported from the city.
According to the state government release, 131 new cases were registered on Monday. With this, the total number of swine flu cases reached 5,659 this year. Out of the new 131 cases registered in the state, 25 were registered in the city.

According to a statement of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), 17 patients are on life support, with nine on Bi-PAP (bi-level positive airway pressure) machines and 23 are on oxygen supply in city hospitals. The civic body said 132 patients are in stable condition.

AHMEDABAD: Swine flu continued its death march with four more lives succumbing to the deadly virus on Tuesday. Out of the four deaths, two were reported from Ahmedabad city. With this, the swine flu death toll in the state reached 377 from January to September 5.
The government claimed that 124 patients were declared cured and discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. But on the same day, 133 new cases including 34 in the city were reported. With this, total number of swine flu cases reached 5,792 this year.

Swine flu: One more died in Vadodara, death toll reaches 38 Source : Last Updated: Wed, Sep 06, 2017 23:48 hrs [India], Sept. 6 (ANI): Swine flu has claimed another life in Gujarat's Vadodara, with the death toll in the district climbing to 38, confirmed Mukesh Vaidya, additional health officer at Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). Ahmedabad: With five more lives succumbing to swine flu in Gujarat on Wednesday, the death toll due to the deadly H1N1 virus reached 382 this year. Out of these five deaths, two were reported in Ahmedabad city.
According to the state government's statement, 127 new cases of swine flu were reported on Wednesday. With this, the state reported 5,899 swine flu cases from January to September 6. The state government claimed that the situation has been improving as 4,913 patients were discharged from various hospitals.

Vadodara: Swine flu claimed three more lives in the city on Wednesday. The deceased include one from the city, one from neighbouring Padra taluka and one from Dahod district.

A 72-year-old woman residing in the Gajrawadi area of the city died at the BAPS Hospital in the Akshar Chowk area of the city on Thursday. With this the total number of persons who died due to the dreaded flu in the city went up to 27. In all, 37 samples from the Vadodara city were tested for H1N1 infections on Thursday and 15 of these turned out to be positive. The total number of persons who have tested positive for swine flu this year now stands at 684. As on Thursday, 98 persons suffering from swine flu were admitted to various hospitals in the city and the condition of six of them was serious.


The victim from Padra taluka of Vadodara district was a 40-year-old woman from the Ghayaj village who died at the state-run SSG Hospital. With her death, the total number of swine flu victims in the Vadodara district excluding Vadodara city areas went up to 13.

AHMEDABAD: Swine flu claimed four more lives across the state on Friday . Two patients sucummbed in the city .The death toll due to the H1N1 virus infection reached 390 in the state this year.


The state also reported 122 new Swine flu cases including 59 cases in the city on Friday . According to the figures of the state government, 6,125 cases have been reported from January to September 8.
However, the government kept claiming that more number of patients have been cured. It claimed in a statement that 5,184 patients were cured but the figures suggested the state has already crossed over 6,000 cases this year. Ahmedabad has reported half of the cases and deaths across the state.

Ahmedabad: Swine flu claimed five more lives on Saturday taking the H1N1 death toll in the state to 395 this year. The state also recorded 184 new cases of the disease on Saturday, said a statement from the state government. With this, the state has recorded 6,309 cases from January to September 9.


The state government claimed that 2,938 patients have been cured in last 15 days and 5,293 were discharged so far. It claimed that swine flu cases have decreased to 40% of weekly cases reported in average over the last three weeks.


On Saturday, 12 districts and one municipality did not report a single case, while one case each was reported in four districts and one municipality, said the statement without divulging details about those districts and municipalities. It claimed that the virulence of swine flu has decreased. tnn
