Gujarat influenza 2017, 453 fatalities

Ahmedabad: Gujarat on Sunday reported three deaths and 107 new cases of swine flu. With this, total number of swine flu mortalities reached 398 this year and 6,416 cases has been reported so far.


The state government claimed that 2,774 patients have been cured in last 15 days and 5,476 have been discharged. It claimed that swine flu cases have decreased to 40% of weekly cases reported in average over the last three weeks. The government claimed the mortality rate due to swine flu in Gujarat is at 6. On Sunday, 12 districts and four municipalities did not report a single case, while one case each was reported in nine districts and one municipality, said a statement of the Gujarat government while claiming that the virulence of H1N1 has decreased. The analysis of the government figures, Gujarat reported 1,733 deaths and 17,441 cases of swine flu since 2009 with mortality rate of 9.94. tnn

H1N1 toll reaches 400 in state

Ahmedabad: With two more swine flu deaths reported in the state on Monday, the death toll due to the H1N1 virus infection reached 400 from January to September 11, said an official statement of the state government. Swine flu cases cross 7,000-mark; 415 deaths

AHMEDABAD: Amid the rosy claims of the Gujarat government of controlling the H1N1 infection, the state on Sunday recorded 62 new swine flu cases, taking the total number of cases to 7,005 in the state this year.

The death march also continued with three more patients succumbing to swine flu. With this, 415 deaths have been recorded in the state this year.
The state government, however, claimed that the cases have drastically decreased in the past few weeks. "As many as 1,848 patients have been cured in the past 15 days. As of now, 6,150 patients have been discharged from the hospital," said a state government statement.
