This latest information does not give any idea of the current H5N1 bird flu situation in Egypt. Missing are any reports of onset for the last 6 weeks i.e. since April 6.

Also notable in the report in post 1 is the latest WHO cumulative H5N1 count for Egypt. WHO is reporting 132 total H5N1 cases so far in 2015:





The FluTrackers case list has counted 143 cases year-to-date 2015. The cases that we have included that are not yet accounted for by WHO are:

23) Egypt - Female, 6, announced as recovered, Cairo

35) Egypt - Child, 3, healed, Assiut

36) Egypt - Child, 2,5, hospitalized, Assiut

43) Egypt - Female, 42, cured, Beheira

65) Egypt - Male, 38, cured, Assiut

67) Egypt - Female, 3.5, cured, Assiut

92) Egypt - Female, 50, announced by Qena MoH

103) Egypt - Child, 4, announced by MoH March 22, Sharqia



For now I am leaving these cases on our list because some were included the Ministry of Health announcements taken directly from their website. Others are reported by various governorate health departments as positive results confirmed by the MoH laboratory. Possibly the Ministry of Health will notify WHO of these additional cases in the next few months.
