The Minister of Public Health reported this Thursday that of the 243 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the last 24 hours nationwide, the province of Santo Domingo registered the highest number of positives, with 89 cases.

People infected with coronavirus in the Dominican Republic amount to 5,926, according to bulletin # 37 issued by the Ministry of Public Health this Saturday, April 25, which reports 177 new positive cases.
While 273 deaths are registered nationwide, six new ones in the last 24 hours, for a lethality of 4.61%.
The bulletin also establishes that there are 822 patients who have been discharged after overcoming the disease.
40% (328/822) of the recovered cases correspond to the National District, 17% (140) to Santo Domingo, 11% (90) to Santiago, 9% (76) to Duarte and 5% (38) to La Vega .
The positivity in the samples processed in the last 4 weeks is 27.8%. Of the total confirmed cases, 54% (3187/5926) are men. The median age of nationally confirmed cases is 43 years.
Positive cases
Of the patients positive for respiratory infection, 1,119 are in hospital isolation and 3,712 in home isolation. Of the hospitalized cases, 136 are in the Intensive Care Unit, mainly in health centers in greater Santo Domingo (38%) and Santiago (35%).
Most of the cases confirmed by coronavirus are distributed in five provinces, with the National District being the most affected district with a cumulative figure of 1,491 cases, followed by Santo Domingo with 1,083 cases, Santiago with 754, Duarte province with 562 and La Vega with 422 positives.
Regarding the suspected cases, the minister reported that 15,358 cases have been discarded through PCR tests, out of a total of 21,284 that have been carried out since the virus was registered in the country on March 1.

By place of residence, most of the deaths have been recorded in the Duarte province (75), another 44 in Santiago, 39 in the Santo Domingo province, 37 in the National District, 11 in the Hermanas Mirabal province and 11 in Puerto Silver.
Nationally, 79% ((215/273) of the deaths corresponded to men, with the mean age of 63 years. As antecedent of morbidity, arterial hypertension was identified in 29% of the patients; diabetes in 22% and chronic lung disease in 6%.

Santo Domingo, Apr 26 (EFE) .- The Dominican Republic registers 6,135 confirmed contagions of coronavirus, with 209 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 278 deaths, as reported this Sunday by the Minister of Public Health, Rafael S?nchez C?rdenas.
The increase in reported cases is 3.53% compared to the previous day, a figure similar to that of the previous two days, in which new infections have remained below 4%.
A total of 584 people are hospitalized, of which 140 in intensive care units, although only 8 of them are intubated, according to the minister.
The number of hospital discharges yesterday was 51, with which a total of 910 people in the country have recovered from COVID-19.

Coronavirus cases in the Dominican Republic increased to 6,652, with the registry of 236 new infected.
According to bulletin 41 of the Directorate of Epidemiology of Public Health, the deceased rose to 293.

He said that 59 people in the ICU are using ventilators, which represents 40 percent.
In the last hours, seven new people have died and 76 people have been discharged.

In the Dominican Republic, the death toll rose to 313 and the number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 7,288, the Minister of Public Health reported today.
According to Rafael S?nchez C?rdenas, 12 people died in the last 24 hours, which added to the 301, reported in yesterday's bulletin, add up to 313 fatalities.
By place of residence, 76.68% (240) of the fatal victims correspond to 11 municipalities: San Francisco de Macor?s (22.04%), Santiago (13.74%), Santo Domingo de Guzm?n (13.10%), Santo Domingo Este (5.75% ), Santo Domingo Norte (4.15%), Santo Domingo Oeste (3.83%), Puerto Plata (3.51%), Salcedo (3.19%), San Pedro de Macor?s (2.88%), La Vega (2.56%) and San Crist?bal ( 1.92%).
76.04% (238/313) correspond to men. By age group, 60% (189) occurred in people aged ≥50 years (Median age: 63 years). As a history, high blood pressure and diabetes is observed in 25% of them.
On 7288 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (316 new cases), of them, 1332 are in hospital isolation, 4256 in home isolation, 1387 recovered and 313 died (12 new deaths) (case fatality = 4.29%).
Of the hospitalized cases, 108 are in the Intensive Care Unit, mainly in health centers in greater Santo Domingo (56.48%) and Santiago (28.70%). In the last 4 weeks, the positivity in the processed samples is 24.49%.
By place of residence, 79.74% (1106) of the recovered cases correspond to the National District, Santo Domingo, Santiago, Duarte and La Vega.

The Minister of Public Health, Rafael S?nchez C?rdenas, reported that positive cases of coronavirus reached 8,235, with the sum of 281 new infected. According to bulletin number 46, the death toll is 346, 13 more deaths than the previous report.
The number of recoveries rose to 1,781.
The minister said that the number of hospitalized was 687, of which 132 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
He added that only 56 people are under ventilation, and that 39.8 percent of ICUs are in use.
He indicated that 42.72 percent of the number of hospital beds are being used.
