Friday, August 21, 2020 . As of August 21, the country registers 1,059 new cases of COVID-19, of which 193 are by epidemiological link and 866 by laboratory, for a total of 32,134 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 14,909 women and 17,225 men, of whom 24,162 are Costa Rican and 7,972 are foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 82 cantons. By age we have: 26,990 adults, 2015 older adults and 2,969 minors, 160 are under investigation.
10,159 recovered persons are registered in 80 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 96 years, of which 4552 are women and 5607 are men, by age we have: 8342 adults, 490 older adults, 1266 minors and 61 are under investigation.
403 people are hospitalized, 124 of them in intensive care with an age range of one to 97 years.
For today seven regrettable deaths are reported: five men, and two women, with an age range of 21 to 90 years. The 21-year-old deceased is a woman, a Costa Rican, a neighbor of Cartago. She was hospitalized at the Calder?n Guardia Hospital and was diagnosed on August 18. As a disease he had diabetes and obesity.
In total, 340 deaths related to COVID-19 are counted: 127 women and 213 men, with an age range of 21 to 100 years.
Likewise, Health reported that there is an outbreak in the pineapple company of Pital de San Carlos called VISA, where 46 positive cases of COVID-19 are reported. Information update work adds 2,240 recovered from COVID-19
Monday, August 24, 2020. Product of the information update work carried out at the local levels of the Ministry of Health, for today 2,240 people recovered from COVID-19 are registered, giving a total of 12,758, of which 1,188 correspond to the canton of San Jos?.
81 cantons are counted with recovered cases of COVID-19, adding Le?n Cort?s. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 99 years, of which 5,786 are women and 6,972 are men, by age we have: 10,504 adults, 675 older adults, 1,514 minors and 65 are under investigation.
As of August 24, the country registers 643 new cases of COVID-19, of which 68 are by epidemiological link and 575 by laboratory, for a total of 34,463 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 15,988 women and 18,475 men, of whom 26,070 are Costa Rican and 8,393 are foreigners.
By age we have: 29,010 adults, 2,162 older adults and 3,129 minors, 162 are under investigation.

Costa Rica reports 51224 cases and 543 deaths
CCSS may make use of intensive care units in private centers for admission of COVID-19 patients
Wednesday, September 9, 2020 . Under the regulatory framework empowered by the General Health Law, the Costa Rican Social Security Fund will be able to make use of the intensive care beds available in the private sector in order to expand the hospitalization capacity of COVID-19 patients.
This will gradually and preliminarily add 22 ICU beds that are available in private hospitals such as Cl?nica B?blica, Hospital CIMA and Cl?nica Cat?lica.
The possibility of using these private ICU services is empowered by decree that will be published this week.
The Vice Minister of Health, Pedro Gonz?lez, held a meeting this morning with the representatives of these private centers and the Metropolitan Hospital, grouped in the Costa Rican Chamber of Health, who were totally willing to join the care of the pandemic.

As of September 12, the country registers 1,485 new cases of COVID-19, of which 224 are by epidemiological link and 1,261 by laboratory, for a total of 55,454 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 26,236 women and 29,218 men, of whom 43,980 are Costa Rican and 11,474 are foreigners.
By age we have: 47,038 adults, 3,549 older adults and 4,753 minors, 114 are under investigation.
20,928 recovered people are counted, of which 9,739 are women and 11,189 are men, by age we have: 17,674 adults, 1,109 older adults, 2,088 minors and 57 are under investigation
564 people are hospitalized, 225 of them in intensive care with an age range of 24 to 96 years.
For today seven unfortunate deaths are reported: four men, and three women, with an age range of 36 to 88 years.
In total, there are 590 deaths related to COVID-19: 224 women and 366 men, with an age range of 19 to 100 years. By age there are 202 adults and 388 older adults.
