32 134 cases confirmed by COVID-19
Friday, August 21, 2020 . As of August 21, the country registers 1,059 new cases of COVID-19, of which 193 are by epidemiological link and 866 by laboratory, for a total of 32,134 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 14,909 women and 17,225 men, of whom 24,162 are Costa Rican and 7,972 are foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 82 cantons. By age we have: 26,990 adults, 2015 older adults and 2,969 minors, 160 are under investigation.
10,159 recovered persons are registered in 80 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 96 years, of which 4552 are women and 5607 are men, by age we have: 8342 adults, 490 older adults, 1266 minors and 61 are under investigation.
403 people are hospitalized, 124 of them in intensive care with an age range of one to 97 years.
For today seven regrettable deaths are reported: five men, and two women, with an age range of 21 to 90 years. The 21-year-old deceased is a woman, a Costa Rican, a neighbor of Cartago. She was hospitalized at the Calder?n Guardia Hospital and was diagnosed on August 18. As a disease he had diabetes and obesity.

Likewise, Health reported that there is an outbreak in the pineapple company of Pital de San Carlos called VISA, where 46 positive cases of COVID-19 are reported. The company is closed by means of a sanitary order issued from the Governing Area of Aguas Zarcas de San Carlos. The pineapple must comply with the respective disinfection.
