Friday, August 07, 2020 . The Minister of Health, Daniel Salas reported that the Costa Rican Social Security Fund sent the Ministry today the first group of people diagnosed with COVID-19 by nexus. It is about 515 people who have been diagnosed by nexus since August 2. From today this data will be updated daily.
The surveillance guidelines of the COVID-19 disease of the Ministry of Health were updated on July 24 in order to instruct the confirmation of positive COVID-19 patients by connection with a person confirmed by PCR test, when they live in the same space physical and manifest symptoms (without requiring the diagnostic test).
In the case of COVID-19 positives per laboratory today, 496 are registered, for a global total of 22,081 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 10,112 women and 11,969 men, of whom 16,204 are Costa Rican and 5,877 are foreigners.

31,075 cases confirmed by COVID-19
Thursday, August 20, 2020 . As of August 20, the country registers 666 new cases of COVID-19, of which 207 are by epidemiological link and 459 by laboratory, for a total of 31,075 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 14,382 women and 16,693 men, of whom 23,311 are Costa Rican and 7,764 are foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 82 cantons. By age we have: 26,053 adults, 1966 older adults and 2,896 minors, 160 are under investigation.

9939 recovered persons are registered in 80 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range from zero to 96 years, of which 4444 are women and 5495 are men, by age we have: 8164 adults, 471 older adults, 1243 minors and 61 are under investigation.
