The third patient diagnosed with the new coronavirus is in isolation at home and is doing well, informed the Health Department of the State of S?o Paulo. The three confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Brazil are in S?o Paulo.

According to the secretariat, the new case of coronavirus in the capital of S?o Paulo was also diagnosed by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, as well as the other two. The patient is 46 years old and has a history of traveling to Italy, Austria, Germany and Spain. He arrived in Brazil on March 1 and sought medical attention after experiencing cough, runny nose and throat discomfort.

In the three cases confirmed in the capital of S?o Paulo so far, the disease was imported, that is, patients acquired it after traveling to countries where there is an outbreak.

A fourth case, which was confirmed for coronavirus after an examination performed in a private laboratory, awaits the result of a counter-test. According to the Ministry of Health, she is a 13-year-old girl, who is in monitoring and her network of direct contacts as well. The girl is in home isolation with her family, according to Health Minister Luiz Henrique Mandetta.

According to the secretariat, S?o Paulo today has 135 suspected cases of coronavirus and another 131 cases that were discarded after laboratory analysis.
 
The Ministry of Health announced this morning that it decided to begin classifying as a confirmed case of coronavirus the case of the 13-year-old girl in S?o Paulo whose test was positive for the virus but did not show symptoms of the disease. Brazil has eight confirmed cases for a new coronavirus and there is already local transmission of the disease. There are 6 cases in S?o Paulo, 1 in Rio de Janeiro and another in Esp?rito Santo.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Health, there is already local transmission of the disease. Two people were infected in Brazil by the first person confirmed with the disease. One was in the patient's fraternization with about 30 family members.

The first case of Covid-19 in the state of Rio is a 27-year-old woman who was recently in Italy.

The patient, who lives in the city of Barra Mansa (RJ), was in Italy between February 9th and 23rd. After presenting her symptoms, already back in Brazil, she went to a health unit on March 1st.

The positive result for the new coronavirus was confirmed by Fiocruz.

The patient is in isolation at home. Her husband and other relatives are being monitored, as well as passengers who were close to her on the plane, on the flight back to Brazil.

“It is an imported case. It goes well. It is a mild form [of the disease] ”, stated the State Secretary of Health of Rio, Edmar Santos.
 
S?O PAULO - Mastercard, one of the largest companies in the payments sector in the world, closed its office in S?o Paulo, after a company employee was diagnosed with the new coronavirus. The infected employee works at the headquarters in Brazil, but was recently in an office in Purchase, New York, which was also closed.

The two offices would undergo a "complete sanitation process," ( Bloomberg).

The S?o Paulo branch is located in Brooklin, in the South Zone of S?o Paulo.

A patient who tested positive for the new coronavirus on a first exam is admitted to the ICU in serious condition, according to the Federal District Health Department. The diagnosis is still awaiting the result of a counter-proof in reference laboratories.

The case has been investigated since Thursday (5). The 52-year-old patient was initially seen at a private hospital with cough and difficulty breathing. She recently returned from a trip to England and Switzerland.

Initial examination was positive for the Sars-CoV-2 virus, but awaits confirmation because it did not occur in a laboratory already qualified by the Ministry of Health.

According to information from the health department, the patient is hospitalized in isolation in the ICU of the Hospital Regional da Asa Norte due to a severe acute respiratory syndrome.

The evaluation of secretariat teams is that the occurrence of a pre-existing chronic disease may have aggravated the condition. The folder did not disclose what the disease would be.

In the ICU, the patient breathes with the support of devices. She is under the care of a multidisciplinary team.

In general, most cases of covid-19, as the disease is called by the new coronavirus, have been mild.

The occurrence of severe cases is higher in patients over 60 years and with a history of associated diseases.

Earlier, the Rio de Janeiro Department of Health confirmed the second case of the new coronavirus in the state. The 52-year-old patient lives in the capital city of Rio de Janeiro and has had symptoms of a viral condition since returning from her trip to Italy last Wednesday (4).

To date, four states have confirmed cases: S?o Paulo (10), Rio de Janeiro (2), Bahia (1) and Esp?rito Santo (1).

On Thursday (5), the Ministry of Health confirmed the first two records of local transmission of the new coronavirus.

The two cases occurred in S?o Paulo and are of people who had contact with the first confirmed patient for covid-19 in the country, today in isolation at home. The contact, however, occurred even before the diagnosis. Patients were already being monitored by health teams due to the risk of symptoms appearing.

According to the ministry, as the cases are linked, it cannot yet be said that there is a sustained or community transmission in the country, but only a local transmission.
 
RIO DE JANEIRO CONFIRMS THIRD CASE OF CORONAVIRUSES IN THE STATE

The State Department of Health of Rio de Janeiro reported that one more case of the new coronavirus has been confirmed.

This is the third case in the state, being the second in the capital. SES points out that, so far, all three cases are of infected people outside the country.

Brazil has 930 suspected cases of covid-19 but the government has not yet updated the 25 cases already known since Sunday.
But something disturbs me in the tests. In 710 tests carried out, only 25 tested positive, that is, 3.5%.
Is it possible to have false negatives like there was some time ago in the USA? Or are the tests being performed incorrectly?
I believe something is wrong with the test results.

The Department of Health of Rio de Janeiro State confirmed, on Monday (9), five more cases of the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV2), totaling eight in the state. With that, the number of cases in Brazil reaches 30.

According to the secretariat, the new cases are three men (aged 27, 42 and 70) and two women (aged 56 and 61), residing in Niter?i (1) and in the capital (4).

They traveled through countries like Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Israel, Egypt and Greece. Among the reported symptoms there are fever, cough and body pain.

The Secretary of Health of Rio, Edmar Santos, reassured the population that there is no proof of circulation of the new virus in the state.


“I reinforce that, until now, we still have no active transmission of the virus in Rio de Janeiro. The confirmed cases so far are imported from abroad. We remain at Level Zero of our contingency plan. I alert the population to the care to prevent contagion, how to wash your hands frequently and avoid bringing them to your face. ”

The five new cases will be included in the Ministry of Health's balance sheet only tomorrow. At the end of this afternoon's update, there were the same 25 records as yesterday.

In addition to the eight cases now confirmed in Rio de Janeiro, S?o Paulo has 16 and Bahia, 2. Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Esp?rito Santo and Alagoas each have one case.
