Rio de Janeiro [EFE]. A Brazilian patient who was suspected of having contracted coronavirus on a recent cruise trip through Argentina and whose case was investigated by health authorities died in the city of Nova Friborg, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, official sources reported Sunday.

The case was not yet officially considered a suspect by the Ministry of Health, but was accompanied by the Municipal Health Secretariat of that town in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro, which submitted the examinations to the ministerial portfolio, responsible for statistics and data disclosure

The patient, sixty years old and who died on Saturday, was hospitalized and isolated at the Ra?l Sert? Hospital in Nova Friburgo with a 65-year-old woman who accompanied him on the cruise.

In the city, another sixty-year-old woman who had suspicious symptoms after having returned to Brazil from Germany and who is already without the clinical picture in quarantine at home was also treated.

Just on Saturday, the Brazilian Ministry of Health confirmed the second case of coronavirus with a patient who presented the symptoms after returning from Italy and said that despite the two cases reported in the country “there is no evidence of circulation of the virus in national territory ”.

According to the ministry, the patient presented fever and muscular and headaches and was immediately treated at the Albert Einstein Hospital and as his clinical picture is stable he received guidance for home quarantine with his wife, who accompanied him on the trip and has no discomfort of health.

For Brazilian health authorities, despite the confirmation of the second "imported" case, "there are no changes in the national scenario."

The first confirmed case in the country was of a 61-year-old man who was between February 9 and 21 in Lombardy, in northern Italy, and also from Milan he returned to Brazil via Paris, where he made a connection to Sao Paul. His diagnosis was confirmed last Wednesday and then it was the first case of coronavirus in Latin America.

The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported on Saturday that in addition to the two confirmed patients, it investigates another 207 “suspected” cases of coronavirus in the country, most of them located in the state of Sao Paulo (91), and that it already ruled out 79 in The whole national territory.

In a new update, Brazil has 433 suspected cases and maintains only two confirmed cases in the state of S?o Paulo.

It is unacceptable for the Brazilian government to remain in the situation shown above, where the only two confirmed cases were in the same private hospital, of great importance in the city of S?o Paulo and all other cases remain as "suspects". How long will the government procrastinate the country's situation?

Once again I highlight the absurdity that is occurring in Brazil. Now with 488 "suspicious" cases, the government continues to confirm only the two cases whose tests were carried out at Albert Einstein Hospital.

3rd case of coronavirus in Brazil, again in SP, already had a positive exam. Only the counter-proof is expected, since it was once again carried out in a private entity.

Brazil records third confirmed case of coronavirus again

Brasilia, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Health confirmed today the third case of the new Covid-19 coronavirus in Brazil, in a patient living in Sao Paulo, a state where the other two proven infections also reside.

Together with the state and municipal secretariats of the territorial division, the portfolio indicates in a note that the case is imported, that is, that it came from outside Brazil.

In addition, another possible confirmed infection of Covid-19 is investigated in the capital of S?o Paulo, where counter-tests are carried out to ratify the sample of the possible case. In Sao Paulo, the Adolfo Lutz Institute is responsible for counter-evidence tests.

The latest balance published on Tuesday by the Regional Ministry of Health indicated 130 suspected cases of the disease in Sao Paulo and two confirmations, both of patients with a history of travel to Italy.

Even with the second confirmation, there was no change in the national situation, because there is no evidence of sustained circulation of the virus in the Brazilian territory.

According to the methodology of the State Department of Health, for a case to be considered suspicious, it is necessary that the patient has presented, in addition to the symptoms, travel history or contact with a suspect.

On Saturday, the health cabinet in Sao Paulo and the Ministry of Health confirmed the second case of coronavirus, in a 32-year-old man who arrived from Milan, Italy, on February 27.

A first case was confirmed the day before, in a businessman who also lives in Sao Paulo and is 61 years old. He returned from Turin, in northern Italy, on February 21.

The coordinator of the Emergency Operations Committee of the Secretary of Health of the state, Paulo Menezes, informed that the patients remain in home quarantine.

"The two confirmed are progressing well clinically, but they still have some symptoms that keep them isolated at home," he said.
