After that RRT visited the village for Entomological and Epidomological survey. During the survey 5 fever cases were identified. Entomologicaly and Epidomologically poor. After that day by day cases swelled. 31 Blood smear collection for MP all are negative. 5 Serum samples collected and send to IDSP-Priority Lab. Ramnad. Result: 1 Widal ve, 2 Dengue IgM ELISA ve. Dengue & Chikungunya PN Palayam Block, Karumandurai PHC, Thekkampattu HSC, Chinnamangodu, Thottithurai Villages 30 0 19/08/2012 2012-08-24 12:36:29 1132 Date of onset of fever in the village on 12.08.12, affected people approched Karumandurai PHC & Private Hospital for treatement. 30 blood smears were taken and examined, found negative for malaria. 8 Serum samples were taken and sent it to the ZET, Salem on 14.08.12 and found 3 Chikungunya positive in Chinnamangode village and two Chikungunya & one Dengue positive found in Thottithurai village. Intensified house to house fever surveillance done by field staff. Anti Larval and Anti audlt (fogging) activity is being carried out by field staff and VHSC member. Health Education about Mosquito breeding and safe drinking water practice done. Residual Chlorine level checked found NIL. Chlorination of OHT done. Investigation Open Fever outbreak may be due to high vector Aedes mosquito density . Weekly Anti larvel work without omission of breeding places may be reduced vector density.Neiboring villages of 1KM radius may be conduted fever surveillance by PHC Staff. Water supply is being the over head tank there was a leakages pipe lines at few places, due to which whole water supply got contaminated and resulting in diarrhoea in the village. Two water samples collected from the village. ( India Marka hand pump) District RRT investigated the out break, 06 well disinfected 50ORS packets and 2000 chlorine tablet were distributed with the help of ASHA. Investigation Closed 04 India Marka hand pump situated in the village but it is not in working condition.
