Suspected Acute Flaccid Paralysis BPHC: Boginodi Affected Village: Chouldhowa ghat under Chouldhowa MPHC 1 0 06/04/2012 2012-04-20 14:39:16 517 On 9th April2012, one case of suspected acute paralysis came under notice by Dr. P.K.Deori, M&HO-1, North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital, Lakhimpur.He found the case as paralysis with both of the legs(Left & right). According to the patients guardian , the patient had suffered cough and cold with soar throat with fever 28 days back since 642012. On 642012, he felt sudden pain in calf muscles and inability to walk. With the instruction of Dr. P.K.Deori, the patient was admitted in North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital on 942012 and discharged on 1242012. The age group of the patient is: 1. 0-10 yrs: 1 no. 2(Two) nos. of stool samples are collected on 1142012( stool 1) and 1242012 (stool 2) and sent to NPSP Unit, Tezpur on 1242012. Results awaited. 1. The SDM&HO Ic Boginodi BPHC instructed the Health Workers to conduct house hold survey for further cases and make awareness on polio vaccination. 2. The District Surveillance Officer, IDSP, Lakhimpur requested to the District Immunization Officer,Lakhimpur to take necessary action. 3. (She awas taking care of the index case) 24.04.2012. * in the following days 6 more reported with diarrhoea *Rest of the 6 affected are the relatives who took care of Chikki (the deceased). * out of the 8 ADD cases, 7 are female. *Eventhough the colony has a safe drinking water source, the open defecation among the residents stays as a threat in the colony. Presence of large number of house flies were also noticed in the colony. * The onset of the last case of diarrhoea is 26.04.2012.
