Provisional Gastroenteritis and Bacillary Dysentery BlockPHC:Nharani, Sub-Centre: Joypur SD, Vill: Joipur T.E. 86 0 21/05/2012 2012-05-25 17:36:00 2560 1) All age group affected but more adult affected, 2) Poor Sanitation, 3) Drinking Water Source: - Tube-Well with broken platform, 4) Majority Tube-Wells are functioning with very dirty unhygienic surroundings. There is water logging due to improper drainage system. Poor socio-economic background residing at T.E. line. 1) 3 nos of samples of drinking water collected in H2S kit from different sources (Tube-Well), 2) 2 nos of sample of drinking water collected for MPN test from different sources (Tube-Well) and 3. 1 nos stool sample were sent to Microbiology Deptt., AMCH on 24052012 and result awaited. 1.District Surveillance Officer visited the T.E. on 22512 and recommended necessary action to garden authority 2.The SDMOH of Naharani PHC visited the T.E. with his team on 23512.3.The DIET of Dibrugarh(HQ) visited the site on 24052012 and collected water samples for MPN test (2 nos.),Stool samples (1 nos)and H2S Strip-test (3 nos.) from the drinking water source. Also Health education was given to the community regarding water borne diseases and about precaution to be taken against the diseases. Chlorination of all tube-wells has been started by the Tea Garden authority as per information reported by DIET, Dibrugarh. Investigation Open

Hygeinic condition is not good. 1. 3 nos. of stool samples collected in CB media and sent it to the department of Microbiology, AMCH, Dibrugarh. 2. 4 nos. of water samples collected in H2S kit which result is awaited. 1. A team from Morabazar BPHC visited the area and organized an awareness camp there on 24-5-12. 2. RRT from IDSP- sivasagar is visiting the garden today on 25-5-2012. 46 cases 1 fatality 25/05/2012 2012-05-26 00:30:13 676 After drinking water villagers have loose motions and Vomiting. Under NAL-JAL Yojana Water supply in village is through pipeline. Due to No proper drainage system in affected area, Contaminated water (may be Feack) return to pipeline and supplied in the village. Sample taken by PHE, result awaited. Block RRT with Dr. S.K. Singh , Dr. Somil Singh Bhadoriya visited and treated the infected people. Line listing of all the patients. Stop further water distribution. Treatment of all 45 patients as 3 admissions in Distt. hospital Ujjain . ORS and Other Necessary Medicines like Furozolidine, Tab Paracetamol, Amoxyllin, Dompessdon are Given to Patients. Investigation Open M.O., Supervisor, A.N.M. and MPW stay there. Situation is under control.
