LAHORE: Five more people died in the city on Sunday as dengue continues to strike, taking the death toll to 323.
Among the victims were 18-year-old Waqas of Gurumangat Road who died in the Services Hospital, 55-year-old Perveen of Iqbal Town, 45-year-old Majida Bibi of Pak Nagar who died in the Services Hospital, Allah Rakhi of Lal Pul who died in the Sheikh Hospital and 24-year-old Fauzia of Chungi Amar Sadhu.

LAHORE - Four more people died of the dengue fever on Monday, raising the official death toll to 298 in the province.
All four deaths were reported from Lahore, where the officially reported deaths have reached 261. The Health department said another 87 people were diagnosed with the deadly fever, with 49 cases in Lahore.
According to the department, Sarwar, 65, of Kot Lakhpat died in Lahore General Hospital. Shamim Bibi, 40, of Gia Bagga and Waqas, 21, of Manga Mandi lost their lives in Jinnah Hospital. Ramzan, 30, of Baghbanpura died in Services Hospital, Lahore.

Octogenarian dies of dengue fever

An octogenarian patient, suffering from multiple diseases including diabetes, hypertension and lung disease, died due to dengue viral fever at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) on the 24th of last month, Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell reported on Thursday.

S. Mubin Ahmed, an 82-year old patient was admitted to the AKUH on October 24 with deteriorating health condition and passed away the same day.

Investigations revealed that the patient was not only diabetic, hypertensive and having interstitial pulmonary fibrosis with broncheectasis (a kind of lung disease) but blood analysis revealed that he was also infected with dengue virus, officials said.

With the report of latest death due to dengue viral fever, the number of deaths blamed on viral disease reached 15 including 13 in Karachi. Of these 13 deaths in the city, nine died in October alone, authorities added.

FOUR out of five deaths have occurred due to dengue fever in Lahore on Thursday, which brought the death count to 337 here.

Independent sources at different hospitals of Lahore said Khalida, 60, a resident of Akbari Gate, died due to dengue fever in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital; Shehroz, 11, a resident of Youhanabad, died in Children?s Hospital while Abdul Khaliq, 45, a resident of Babu Sabu, died in Jinnah Hospital and Shahbaz, 45, a resident of Mohafiz Town, died in Ittefaq Hospital. Meanwhile, Naveed, 24, a resident of Faisalabad, expired of dengue virus in Allied Hospital there yesterday.

Besides, as many as 118 patients have been tested dengue fever positive on Thursday, taking the tally of patients to 31,979 in Lahore alone.

THE dengue fever has claimed two more lives on Friday, which brought the death count to 339 in the provincial metropolis.

According to details obtained through independent sources from different hospitals of Lahore, two patients, including Sumaira, 32, a resident of Sabzazar, died in the Mayo Hospital and Mrs Ishtiaq, 28, died in the Services Hospital due to dengue.

Besides, as many as 133 patients have been tested dengue fever positive on Friday, taking the tally of patients to 32,112 in Lahore alone.

According to the report released by the Health Department Punjab, as many as 90 confirmed dengue patients have been reported in Punjab out of them, 54 patients reported in Lahore.

The total number of dengue patients in Punjab has risen to 20,489 out of whom 17,060 belong to Lahore.

THE dengue fever claimed four more lives in Lahore on Saturday which brought the death toll to 343 in the provincial metropolis.
According to details, obtained through independent sources from hospitals of Lahore, Karim Bibi, 72, a resident of Maqbool Park, died due to dengue fever in the Services Hospital, Samina Zia, 35, a resident of Township, died in Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Nawaz, 80, a resident of Hafizabad, died in Mayo Hospital, and Ashraf 48, a resident of Bahawalnagar, expired of dengue virus in a private hospital in Shadman.

Besides, as many as 101 patients have been tested dengue fever positive on Saturday, taking the tally of patients to 32,213 in Lahore alone. Eleven patients were tested positive in the Mayo Hospital, two in Children?s Hospital, 13 in Jinnah Hospital, eight in Ganga Ram Hospital, 18 in Services Hospital, six in Lahore General Hospital, one in Institute of Public Health and another 42 in public and private hospitals, laboratories and clinics in the provincial metropolis.

Meanwhile, the Health Department has also confirmed four deaths due to the Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) during the last 24 hours which brought total official figure of deaths to 314 in Punjab and 272 in Lahore.

With 21 fatalities in Sindh and KP, this brings the official death toll to 335. The "International News" is claiming an additional 71 fatalities for Lahore alone, but these are unconfirmed.

LAHORE

DENGUE claimed three lives during three days of Eid-ul-Azha in City hospitals, which brought the death toll to 348 in the provincial metropolis.

According to independent sources in hospitals of Lahore, two patients including Muhammad Fazal, 50, a resident of Tajpura, and Abdul Hameed, 60, a resident of Badami Bagh, died due to dengue fever in Services Hospital and Parveen Bibi, 45, a resident of Faisal Town, expired in Jinnah Hospital.

During the last three days of Eid, 199 patients were tested dengue positive, which brought the total number of patients to 32,491 in Lahore alone.

Two more die of dengue in Lahore

LAHORE: Two more people died on Tuesday due to dengue fever in different hospitals, raising total death toll to 307 in the city. Abdul Majeed, a 60-year-old man of Tajbagh, who was under treatment at special dengue ward of Services Hospital, succumbed to dengue fever, while, Muhammad Uzair (50), of Badami Bagh, died at Mayo Hospital.

Zahid Bashir, a 43-year-old resident of Tajpura, who was under treatment in a special dengue ward of the Jinnah Hospital lost his weeklong battle against dengue fever.
According to the Health Department, only 23 persons with positive dengue symptoms in their blood reports were reported in Punjab during the last 24 hours, out of them 10 are from Lahore. The total number of dengue patients in Punjab has risen to 3,678 and out of them 2,498 belong to Lahore.
According to independent sources, 350 patients have died in Lahore since outbreak of the epidemic this year, while the Health Department has confirmed only 320 deaths in Punjab, 277 of them in Lahore.

LAHORE: At least five dengue patients succumbed to the disease in the city on Friday, taking the death toll to 355.

The victims included 58-year-old Ehsanul Haq, 78-year-old Hussain Bhatti, both were residents of Model Town and died in the Ittafaq Hospital. Others included 30-year-old Muhammad Afzal of Kot Khawaja Saeed, 36-year-old Kiswar Ali of Sanda who died in the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and 45-year-old Muhammad Ijaz of Habibullah Road Garhi Shahu who died in the Mayo Hospital.

KARACHI - A teenage boy breathed his last at a private hospital in Karachi on Saturday due to the dengue virus, raising the dengue death toll to 14 in the metropolitan.
Sindh Dengue Surveillance Cell Provincial Focal Person/Civil Hospital Karachi Additional Medical Superintendent (General) Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick informed the media through a statement that on November 1, 17-year-old Hamza Hayat ? resident of Block 40, Cement Lane, Keamari Town ? was taken to a private hospital where he was confirmed dengue positive, and on Saturday, breathed his last.

Lahore?According to the report released by the Health Department Punjab 91 dengue patients have been cured and discharged from Teaching and District Headquarters Hospitals of Lahore during the last 24 hours which include 26 patients from Mayo Hospital, 24 from Services Hospital, 9 from Jinnah Hospital, 15 from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 5 from Lahore General Hospital, 9 from Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital and 3 patients discharged from Mian Munshi Hospital.

The health authorities in the city on Thursday reported another death due to the dengue, taking the number of deaths from the deadly viral fever to 17 in the province.

The latest victim was a 55-year-old man, a resident of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, who was admitted to a private hospital with symptoms of the dengue virus.

The patient died on November 15, and it was reported to the Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell on November 17. The medical examinations of the patient confirmed that he had been suffering from the fever.

Besides killing a man, the merciless dengue virus forced dozens of Lahoprites to approach public sector hospitals for preliminary tests, confirming 67 new cases on Friday and as such taking the tally to 33086.
Muhammad Siddique (70), a resident of Chungi Amar Sadhu, breathed his last at Lahore General Hospital. According to a report, Ghulam Mutaza, 48, a resident of Khokhar Road, Sidiqia Colony, expired in Mayo Hospital.
