Swine flu fears lead to cancellation
The Winthrop/Carolinas Wind Orchestra has canceled its upcoming trip to China because of fears the musicians could contract swine flu and be quarantined.
?We hope this current cancellation will not eliminate the possibility of rescheduling a tour in future years,? said William Malambri, the group?s conductor.
The group had planned to leave for China on Dec. 26 and return Jan. 7 after performing in three provinces.
Donations that were to help pay for the trip will be returned, the school said.
