There are already 63 deaths due to influenza

The current influenza season records 63 deaths from the disease, the second highest since 2012, according to records from the epidemiological authorities. In addition, the lethality of this disease went from 1.6 to 6.6 percent when comparing last season with the current one, because 80 percent of the cases correspond to strain A H1N1, the most aggressive. However, the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell, indicated that the situation is within the expected. And stressed that the increase in lethality does not imply an emergency, since the behavior of the virus is similar to that presented in other seasons, where this strain predominated. The virus, he explained, affects the young adult more than children and older adults, who are more affected by the strains that prevailed last season.
