    Ahmedabad: Swine flu claimed nine more lives in Gujarat, taking the toll to 176 since January this year, according to an official statement issued here Thursday.





    180 new swine flu cases were recorded across the state today, taking the total number of such cases to 2,371 so far.
    "Gujarat reported nine swine flu deaths today, taking the total number of deaths to 176, while 180 new H1N1 cases were reported today," the release said.

          Swine flu death toll climbs to 186

          RAJKOT/ SURAT: With 10 more people succumbing to swine flu on Friday, the death toll in the state due to the deadly disease climbed to 186 since January 1. As many as 107 new cases of H1N1 infections were reported from various parts of the state.

          With this the total number of swine flu positive cases reached 2,637 out of which 1,219 have been cured. While rest are undergoing treatment at hospitals.

          According to state health department, three deaths were reported from Rajkot, two each from Vadodara and Anand and one each from Ahmedabad, Surat and Gandhinagar.

          Surat reported 46 new H1N1 positive cases on Friday, followed by Kutch (13), Vadodara (12), nine each in Sabarkantha, Rajkot and Amreli, eight each from Gandhinagar and Anand. Cases were also reported from Bharuch, Morbi, Porbandar, Kheda, Jamnagar, Panchmahal, Patan and Aravalli.

          With 10 more people succumbing to swine flu on Friday, the death toll in the state due to the deadly disease climbed to 186 since January 1.

                  Gujarat junior health minister tests positive for swine flu

                  Gujarat's minister of state for health Shankar Chaudhary has tested positive for swine flu, just days after the assembly Speaker was diagnosed with the H1N1 virus. Chaudhary is now undergoing treatment at a special isolation room in his house in Gandhinagar.

                            Sonam Kapoor tests positive for swine flu
