3-year-old boy dies of swine flu

AHMEDABAD: As temperature plummeted in many parts of Gujarat, the deadly swine flu on Monday claimed a three-year-old boy of Rajpur area of the city. With this death at V S Hospital here, total number of deaths due to the H1N1 virus increased to 137 this year.
The three-year-boy, who originally hailed from Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, came to city on December 20 and was staying with his parents at Pathan ni Chali at Rajpur . The boy had complained of high fever and cough. On December 24 he complained of breathlessness and was admitted to a city-based private hospital at Bapunagar.

H1N1 kills woman, four test positive
VADODARA: Swine flu claimed one more life in the city on Saturday even as four others tested positive for the virus. The deceased was a Jambusar resident, while those who tested positive are from Vadodara.
The viral infection since August 27 has killed 13 people in the city. During the same period, as many as 78 positive cases of swine flu were reported in the city. At least 56 of these patients have been cured, but seven are still under treatment in different hospitals.

Swine flu hit hard during winter too. From January to April 2015, Gujarat reported the highest number of deaths in India?439 out of 6,563 cases?according to official sources. During the same period, Rajasthan witnessed 430 deaths, while it had reported 6,675 swine flu cases. This year alone, the total number of swine flu cases in Gujarat has crossed 7,000 with 492 deaths till October 18.
