INDORE: Deadly onslaught of swine flu continues unabated in Indore. Two more patients admitted at MY Hospital died on late Saturday night. In three days, 13 patients have succumbed to H1N1 virus. With this, the toll due to killer virus has increased to 54, though the health department sources say only 29 people have died of swine flu in Indore.
As per official records, since January 2015, a total of 160 samples have been sent for confirmatory test to Jabalpur-based laboratory. Out of the total, 45 reports came out negative whereas 55 samples turned out positive. Reports of remaining cases are yet to come. According to sources at MY Hospital, two patients, including one each from Indore and Dewas districts died due to virus attack within hours after of being admitted at the swine flu ward. Those, who died at MY Hospital on Saturday included a 65-year-old woman from Nehru Nagar of Indore, who was admitted to the hospital the same day. Another 50-year-old woman from Dewas district died on late Saturday night.

According to SPA registrar Rajesh Moza, besides two students testing positive for swine flu, one student has been detected with H1N1 influenza B and 27 students tested positive for H1N1 influenza A at government-run Hamidia hospital. Influenza A and B could aggravate into H1N1, and students are being monitored, said Moza.
"Eight girls and 20 boys have been isolated in their respective hostels. In case any student's temperature goes above 100 degree Fahrenheit or any respiratory discomfort, we have been asked to get the patient hospitalised," said Moza.
