Swine flu patients were not killed by the negligence of doctors
Published: Sun, 06 Dec 2015th eight twenty-nine AM (IST) | Updated: Sun, 06 Dec 2,015 08:32 AM (IST)By: Editorial Team
Harish diwekar, Shashi Kant Tiwari, Bhopal. swine flu patients in the state's death resulted from the negligence of doctors rather than disease. Alam is that doctors do not realize that the swine flu when and for how long patients should ventilator. Integrated Disease Surveillance Centre, says Program (IDSP) Team Death audit report.
The report is clearly written that doctors do not realize that several patients died because of their inexperienced. Patients received no oxygen at the time. According to the report, if patients get the ventilator at the time of their lives would have been saved.
IDSP July 1 to 13 by October 2015. The team had 33 swine flu deaths, cases of patients seen sheet revealed that 90 per cent of these patients are those who were placed on ventilators. On the instructions of Health swine flu patients in Punjab Wi-Pape was put on ventilator, only Vejiv these patients had to be put on ventilator support.
Swine flu death rate is the highest state in the country. October 13 to 10 and deaths from swine flu in the state. Ie July 1 to 5 by December 2015, 43 of the 148 positive patients have died. From this account every third positive patients have died. 28 patients had, until Ventiletrtim investigating the death of 33 patients, including 28 patients, the ventilator was installed.
The investigation showed that the decision to support ventilators were late. This causes a lack of oxygen to the patient liver, kidney and other organs, including heart stopped.
Ventilating protocol
- The patient's blood oxygen level is less than 90 percent.
- Oxygen support after the oxygen level should not increase too.
- Falling blood pressure and decrease blood parameters were fixed.
- Continuous monitoring of oxygen levels is essential to check PSO -2.
Straight Talk (Gauri Singh, Principal Secretary, Department of Health)
Is it true that IDSP ventilator in the audit report of the death figure is considered negligence.
- Negligence is not correct to say. The report states that the ventilators of the protocol was not followed properly.
The report states that the ventilator is put in the right way at the right time and then maybe deaths there.
- It is not a fool accurate. So ventilators have been installed, the question is just on their way. This patient died, it does not say.
Directorate of Health also issued instructions wrong ventilator asked to Wi-Pape, which was against protocol.
- We were Ventiletrs low, so we bought 30 Ventiletrs. Anyway, the other patient ventilators for flu patients could not be. We had trouble with it in practice. But now Ventiletrs enough.
What steps is the government report.
- The report ventilator protocol detection and treatment of swine flu, we have other things coming in, 6 doctors immediately sent for training. The doctor returned the government and private hospitals will train doctors

Comment: Hopefully, better treatment can lead to better outcomes for the patients. That being said, the Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) seems to be passing the buck on the surveillance part of its job. A 29% case fatality rate is also indicative of tens of thousands of cases in the community that are being missed. - Ro
