Health officials are concerned with the growing number of cases of and deaths from pertussis, also called whooping cough.
There have been five deaths in Saskatchewan during the past three years and all the victims were younger than three months old...

In Prince Albert Parkland Health Region, between June 2009 and April 30, 2010, there have been 14 cases of pertussis ? and six since January ? said Dr. Khami Chokani.
A third of those cases are in really young children and an additional third are in their parents, Chokani said...
