    SANTA FE ? The New Mexico Department of Health reported Wednesday that four infants, including one from Do?a Ana County, have been hospitalized for pertussis, popularly known as whooping cough, in the past month.

    The infants, each under 4 months old, were also from Sandoval and Valencia counties, state health officials said, adding that there have been no pertussis-related infant deaths in New Mexico since 2005...

    ...In all four of the infants' households, not all their caregivers had received the Tdap vaccine, which put the children at risk, officials said...

    SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Department of Health says a San Miguel County infant has died from whooping cough.

    It's the first pertussis-related infant death in the state since 2005.

    Health officials say the 2-month-old child died late last week. The name and gender of the infant isn't immediately available...

        Cases have skyrocketed in just one year from 275 to 612...

          ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The number of whooping cough cases in New Mexico continues to rise and the Department of Health is ramping up efforts to educate people about preventing the infectious disease.

          DOH says there have been 644 cases of the deadly disease so far this year, including two child deaths. That is more than double the total number last year, 275 cases...
