    Taiwan reports another case of swine fever virus found in wontons

    Taipei, Dec. 21 (CNA) The minced pork meat on wonton wrappers brought by a traveler into Taiwan has been found to contain the highly contagious African swine fever (ASF) virus, the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine (BAPHIQ) said Friday.

    The meat on the wrappers brought from China's Fujian province to the Port of Taichung on Dec. 16 tested positive for the virus, becoming the seventh case of ASF brought to Taiwan from abroad since the virus was first reported on Oct. 31, according to the BAPHIQ.

    No domestic infections in Taiwan have been reported so far...

      China confirms new African swine fever outbreak in Guizhou

      China has confirmed a new outbreak of African swine fever in Guizhou Province, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

      The outbreak was found in a farm of 156 pigs in Longli county, among which 42 were confirmed to have died from the disease, the ministry said, citing a China Animal Disease Control Center report.

      Local authorities have initiated an emergency response to block, cull and disinfect the affected pigs...

        China?s agriculture ministry on Sunday reported a new outbreak of African swine fever at a pig farm in the outskirts of Guangzhou, bringing the virus closer to the border with Hong Kong.

        According to the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the pig farm in Huangpu was found to have 30 infected pigs after a further nine had died by Saturday evening.

        As a response, the local authorities have sealed off the area and slaughtered 6,027 pigs.

        The outbreak in Guangzhou was reported after a pig farm in nearby Zhuhai reported the virus and the Zhuhai authority had slaughtered 1,598 pigs...

          China on Monday confirmed a new case of African swine fever in Nanping city, Fujian Province, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

          On a farm of 5,776 pigs in Nanping's Yanping district, 35 were confirmed infected with the viral disease and 11 were dead, the ministry said, citing a China Animal Disease Control Center report released Monday morning.

          Local authorities have initiated an emergency response to block, cull and disinfect all of the affected pigs...

            China on Tuesday reported the third outbreak of African swine fever in Guangdong, the southern province that borders Hong Kong, in less than a week.

            In the latest incident, in Boluo county, Huizhou, 11 of 90 pigs on a farm were killed by the deadly disease, the agriculture ministry said.

            On Saturday, similar infections were found in 30 pigs on a farm of more than 6,000 in the Huangpu district of Guangzhou. Nine of the animals have since died of the illness.

            Local authorities responded by sealing off the area and slaughtering 6,027 hogs.

            The outbreak in Guangzhou came after a farm in nearby Zhuhai reported the virus on Thursday. Authorities there slaughtered 1,598 pigs as a precautionary measure.

            The three cases were the first in Guangdong, and prompted authorities in Hong Kong to increase their efforts to prevent meat being smuggled into the city.

              BEIJING, Dec 25 (Reuters) - China has detected the African swine fever virus in some protein powders made using pork blood and manufactured by a Tianjin-based company, the General Administration of Customs said in a statement on Tuesday.

              The raw material for the 73.93 tonnes of contaminated protein products, mainly used in animal feed, came from 12 slaughter houses in Tianjin, the administration said...

                          The Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was released on December 25 , and an African swine fever epidemic occurred in Boluo County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province.   12 Yue 25 Ri 13 , the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas to the control center reported Chinese animal epidemic prevention, Animal Disease Control Center of Guangdong Province confirmed , Huizhou City, Guangdong Province Boluo a farmers African swine fever outbreaks occur. The local government has started the emergency response mechanism as required, and adopted measures such as blockade, culling, harmless treatment, disinfection, etc., to treat all the sick and culled pigs harmlessly. At the same time, all pigs and their products are prohibited from being transferred out of the blockade, and pigs are prohibited from being transported into the blockade. At present, the above measures have been implemented.

                            The Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was released on December 30 , and an African swine fever epidemic occurred in Zezhou County , Jincheng City , Shanxi Province .
                              At 17 o'clock on December 30 , the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center, which was diagnosed by the Shanxi Provincial Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center , and an African swine fever epidemic occurred in a farm in Zezhou County , Jincheng City , Shanxi Province. Up to now, the farmer has stored 8016 pigs , 24 diseases and 7 deaths .
                              Immediately after the outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs sent a steering group to the local area. The local government has started the emergency response mechanism as required, and adopted measures such as blockade, culling, harmless treatment, disinfection, etc., to treat all the sick and culled pigs harmlessly. At the same time, all pigs and their products are prohibited from being transferred out of the blockade, and pigs are prohibited from being transported into the blockade . At present, the above measures have been implemented.
