    [BEIJING] China detected African swine fever in piglets being illegally transported in its southwest city of Chongqing, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said on Sunday.

    The virus was found in 25 piglets in a truck in Dianjiang county, the ministry said on its website.

    One piglet had died after being isolated, and the rest were culled. The ministry is investigating the outbreak..

        The Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was released on November 10th . Dianjiang County, Chongqing City, was intercepted by the provinces and illegally transported into the piglets to detect the African swine fever.

        11 Yue 9 Ri , the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas to the control center reported Chinese animal epidemic prevention, the Chongqing Municipal Animal Disease Control Center confirmed in Dianjiang County, Chongqing Wan Tai Ping high-speed service area intercepted a car carrying in pigs in other provinces violation investigation and the African swine fever. When seized, the car was carrying pigs 25 head isolation after the death of 1 headers.
        After the outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs immediately directed local investigations on epidemic situation supervision and epidemiological investigation. The local emergency response mechanism has been activated as required, and all piglets are culled and harmlessly treated, and the vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, and the sites involved are thoroughly inspected and disinfected. At present, the piglets have been processed as required, and the investigation and traceability of the epidemic are underway.
