Guinea-Bissau death toll rises to 17 in 1,541 cases
The number of deaths by covid-19 in Guinea-Bissau rose to 17 and the number of infections registered since March to 1,541, announced today the coordinator of the Center for Emergency Health Operations (COES).

According to Dion?sio Cumba, between Monday and Thursday 175 new samples were analyzed, of which 49 were positive.
"We have, at this moment, 1,541 cases of covid-19 accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic," said Dion?sio Cumba, in the second press conference of the week to update the evolution of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus in the country.
"The number of deaths has gone up, after two deaths have been confirmed this week," he said, now totaling 17.
The Guinean doctor also said that the number of recovered remains at 153, but that Monday there should be updated data.
The COES coordinator said that there are 44 people hospitalized in three hospitals in the country, namely 31 in the hospital of Cumura, six in the National Hospital Sim?o Mendes and seven in the hospital of Bor.
The seven people admitted to Bor's hospital are on oxygen, he said.
By regions, Dion?sio Cumba said that the Autonomous Sector of Bissau is the one that registers the highest number of infections by covid-19 with 1,451 cases, followed by the Biombo region, with 53, Cacheu, with 26, Bafat?, seven, Gabu, two , and Oio, two.
