    Malaysia Covid-19 toll rises to 15 deaths, 1,624 infections

    PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry today announced 106 new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia, bringing the tally of infections to 1,624.

    The country also recorded one new fatality, raising the death toll to 15.

    Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the new cases, 43 are related to the Sri Petaling mosque tabligh cluster.

    The remaining 63 cases are linked to other clusters which are still under investigation.

    “As for the fatality, we recorded one case today involving a 71-year-old man (Case 1,519), believed to have had close contact with Case 703, a tabligh participant...

      CORONAVIRUS | Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has announced Malaysia's 16th death due to Covid-19.

      In a separate development, the police said one of its members died while on duty enforcing the movement control order (MCO) but this was not related to the virus.

        PETALING JAYA: Four deaths and 172 new Covid-19 cases have been reported, bringing it to a total of 19 fatalities and 1,796 cases as of noon Wednesday (March 25), says Health Ministry director-general Datuk Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic).

        In a press conference, he said there were 16 Covid-19 patients discharged, bringing the total to 199 recoveries.

              KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia reported 130 new COVID-19 cases on Friday (Mar 27), bringing the country's total to 2,161.

              “A total of 54 positive cases are being treated in the intensive care unit, of which 34 are in need of ventilators,” Health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

              He added that 44 more patients have been discharged on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 259.

                    KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has confirmed 156 more COVID-19 cases, making the total number of people to test positive as of Monday (Mar 30) 2,626.

                    Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said in a press conference that three more deaths have been recorded.

                    “According to the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (sic) has confirmed three more deaths, making the total death tally 37.

                    “The three include a 57-year-old diabetes patient with travel history to Indonesia, a 46-year old man in Sarawak and a 46-year-old man with high blood pressure and an auto-immune disease, also from Sarawak.

                        PUTRAJAYA — The Malaysian health ministry confirmed two more deaths from Covid-19, bringing the country’s total fatalities to 45, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

                        The country’s health director-general said there were 142 new infections, driving up the number of cases to 2,908.

                        He said 108 coronavirus patients have been discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of those who have recovered to 645.

                        Dr Noor Hisham said currently there are 102 patients in the intensive care unit, with 66 on respirators.

                            PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded a rise of 217 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (April 3), bringing the country’s total to 3,333 confirmed infections.
