One Quebecer has died of COVID-19 so far, an elderly woman in the Lanaudiere region whose death was announced Wednesday. One person who was confirmed to have COVID-19 has since recovered, authorities say.
Seven of 121 patients who have COVID-19 are being treated in a hospital, a figure that Quebec Premier Francois Legault said he found re-assuring.

He said one person has died, so no change from yesterday.
“The situation remains under control,” he said. He said public health authorities are telling the government that its efforts are working.
He urged Quebecers to continue to practice social distancing.
“We must continue our efforts and we’ll get through this together,” Legault said.
