The death toll from H1N1 flu in Venezuela rose to 71, representing 30 deaths since early September, with a cumulative total of 1343 positive cases reported on Monday, Health Minister Carlos Rotondaro.
"Until yesterday we have 1343 positive cases from 7427 samples taken, and have a number of 71 deaths," the minister told reporters.
On 2 September, the Health Ministry reported 41 dead and 970 infected by influenza A (H1N1).
The minister announced that health authorities provide informative talks in schools, which this week school started.
He also noted that Venezuela is preparing to buy about five million vaccines against H1N1 influenza, which should come to Venezuela in early 2010.
