Virus outbreak resricts visiting hours at Weston Hospital

Sunday, December 18, 2011
1:05 PM

VISITING times have been restricted to one hour a day at three Weston General Hospital wards after an outbreak of a vomiting virus.

The Grange Road site is limiting access to it Kewstoke, Berrow and Draycott wards to try to halt the spread of the winter bug.
Hospital bosses say the bug enters the hospital from the community ? and it now wants the public to play a part in helping control the spread of the virus.

Ian Bramley, director of nursing at Weston Area Health NHS Trust, said: ?The winter vomiting bug affects the whole community at this time of year, including schools, care homes and local businesses, because it spreads easily where people mix.
