209 more die in the UK
The UK death toll from coronavirus has increased by 209 people in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of deaths in the UK to 1,228 so far.
The figure was fewer than Saturday’s record rise of 260, which may bring some hope that the rise in deaths could stabilise soon.
The Department of Health and Social Care also said 19,522 have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the UK.

95 people in Scotland in intensive care with confirmed or suspected Covid
Sturgeon also revealed that 95 people were in intensive care on Saturday night with either confirmed or suspected Covid-19.
Meanwhile, she announced the a new volunteer campaign named “Scotland Cares” will launch tomorrow to allow people to register to volunteer during the pandemic, following the establishment of similar NHS initiative by the UK government.
UK coronavirus death toll rises to 1,408
The Department of Health and Social Care has just published today’s Covid-19 testing figures.
A total of 134,946 people have been tested for the virus, with 22,141 positive cases in the UK.
As of 5pm on Sunday, 1,408 people across the country had died.
