In 112 years, 30 cases of avian influenza were confirmed and culled, including 28 farms of land poultry and 2 farms of geese.

The Anti-Inspection Bureau pointed out that the weather has gradually warmed up recently, and there are still sporadic cases of bird flu. The poultry farm operators should still strengthen daily management, such as turning on the ventilation equipment at the right time, adopting the feeding mode of all-in and all-out, and non-closed feeding, etc., to reduce the risk of infection. The poultry in the field is tight, and at the same time maintain the normal operation of the bird prevention facilities, and implement the access control of the field. Personnel and vehicles include poultry trucks, egg trucks, chemical trucks, feed trucks, etc., and transportation vehicles such as transport cages and egg boxes And egg trays and utensils should also be thoroughly disinfected in and out to jointly prevent the occurrence and spread of the epidemic...

A small poultry farm in the East District of Hsinchu City raised 280 chickens and ducks. Due to abnormal deaths, it was reported to the Hsinchu City Animal Welfare Institute on April 20 to take samples for inspection. Today (21st) it was confirmed as H5N1 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza Mayor Gao Hongan immediately instructed Secretary-General Zhang Zhixiang to hold a meeting of the Avian Influenza Animal Disaster Response Center, and mobilized anti-epidemic personnel from all bureaus to complete the culling, clearance and disinfection of the remaining 74 poultry in the field today.

The Animal Protection Institute pointed out that the small poultry farm only raised 200 chickens and more than 80 ducks and geese, etc. There are no other poultry farms within a radius of 3 kilometers of the farm, and the current epidemic monitoring results of other poultry farms in Hsinchu City are also normal; but Due to the high transmission of bird flu virus, the animal protection institute still asks all poultry farms and production and sales companies to strengthen their own epidemic prevention management, implement the disinfection of poultry house fences and vehicle equipment in and out, so as to jointly prevent the spread of bird flu epidemic. Don't take it lightly...

December 05, 2023 19:56 Source: China News Network

China News Service, Taipei, December 5 (Reporter Chen Xiaoyuan) Avian influenza occurred in a chicken farm in Yunlin County, Taiwan. The county's Animal and Plant Disease Control Station completed the cleaning and disinfection of the farm area and surrounding environment on the 5th, and culled a total of 20,117 chickens. Breeders, 49,885 eggs destroyed.

The Yunlin County Animal and Plant Epidemic Prevention Office stated that the culling operation was carried out at a breeding chicken farm located in Douliu City, Yunlin County. On the 1st, the operator discovered that the breeding chickens had abnormal deaths and proactively reported it to the Epidemic Prevention Office. After sampling and testing, it was confirmed as a case of H5N1 subtype avian influenza on the 4th.

In the past half month, two bird flu epidemics have occurred in Yunlin. On November 25, H5N1 subtype avian influenza was diagnosed in a laying hen farm in Gukeng Township, Yunlin. At that time, 15,374 laying hens were culled and 35,413 eggs were destroyed.

Yunlin County Magistrate Zhang Lishan said on the 5th that in order to strengthen epidemic prevention and control, the county government will strengthen sampling and monitoring visits to poultry farms, retrospective investigations of abnormal notifications in slaughterhouses, and disinfection of high-risk areas and surrounding case farms.

Liao Peizhi, director of the Yunlin County Animal and Plant Disease Control Institute, said that cases of avian influenza have been reported in Japanese poultry farms in the upper reaches of the migratory bird route. Recently, H5N1 subtype avian influenza has also been detected in the excreta of migratory (wild) birds in Taiwan, indicating that migratory birds carry avian influenza viruses. The risks of entering Taiwan have increased significantly. (over)
