MEDAN, SELASA - Penyebaran virus flu burung pada unggas terus menjalar. Kali ini masuk ke Kota Tebing Tinggi. Daerah ini menjadi daerah ketiga yang terserang virus setelah Kabupaten Asahan, dan Kabupaten Labuhan Batu dalam dua minggu terakhir. Kendati demikian di Tebing Tinggi belum ada kontak virus kepada manusia.
Petugas mengetahui hasilnya positif serangan virus flu burung melalui rapid test. Kami masih mencari informasi lebih lanjut mengenai perkembangan virus , kata Kepala Seksi Veteriner Dinas Peternakan Sumatera Utara Nurdin Lubis, Selasa (12/8) di Medan.
Menurut Nurdin kasus positif serangan flu burung itu terdapat di Kelurahan Deblod Sundoro, Kecamatan Padang Hilir, Tebing Tinggi. Daerah ini berdekatan dengan Kabupaten Asahan dan Labuhan Batu yang sebelumnya diketahui kasus positif flu burung. Tebing Tinggi sejak 2005 sudah ditemukan kasus positif flu burung pada unggas, katanya.
Sebelumnya serangan flu burung pada manusia menyerang 12 daerah dari 28 kabupaten dan kota. Sedangkan s erangan flu burung pada unggas pernah terjadi di 20 daerah. Dari seluruh kasus flu burung yang pernah ada di Sumut , terdapat tujuh korban meninggal dunia pada manusia.
Pemusnahan virus tidak gampang. Dalam waktu tiga sampai empat tahun belum tentu bisa habis, katanya. Virus flu burung belakangan ini terjadi di daerah yang sebelumnya menjadi endemis penyebaran virus. Menurut dia, kecenderungan penyebaran virus flu burung pada bulan April sampai September setiap tahunnya. Fenomena ini, tuturnya, ada hubungannya dengan pergantian musim kemarau ke musim hujan.
Pengawasan Longgar
Dia mengakui pengawasan per edaran unggas dari satu daerah ke daerah lain berjalan longgar. Mestinya peredaran unggas ke daerah lain dilengkapi dengan surat dari petugas dinas peternakan. Kami membutuhkan aturan pengawasan peredaran unggas yang lebih ketat. Aturan yang selama ini ada hanya tentang peredaran unggas untuk kabupaten dan kota serta antar provinsi. Antar kecamatan dan antar desa belum ada aturanya, katanya.
Kepala sub Dinas P2P (pencegahan penyakit dan penyehatan) Dinas Kesehatan Sumut Surya Darma membena kan hal ini. Hanya saja dia belum mendapatkan informasi adanya kontak dengan manusia. Secara detail kami belum banyak menerima informasi. Meski begitu, kami mememinta aparat Dinas Kesehatan Tebing Tinggi tidak terlena. Perlu ada sosialisasi agar masyarakat menerapkan pola hidup sehat dan bersih. Ini sebagai salah satu upaya untuk menghadapi perkembangan virus, katanya.
