Slovenia - Covid-19 coronavirus cases - 3,498 cases, 135 deaths

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), April 29 (SeeNews) - The number of people who died from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Slovenia rose to 89 by Wednesday morning, up from 86 a day earlier, while the number of confirmed cases of the infection increased by 10 to 1,418, the government in Ljubljana said.

A total of 25 people are under intensive care out of all 73 who have been hospitalised, the government said on a website it has created to monitor the coronavirus spread in the country.

According to the government, 5 new coronavirus infections were confirmed on Thursday with 1352 tests. Two patients died, a total of 93.

58 patients with covid-19 are hospitalized, 21 are in intensive care.

5 patients with covid-19 were discharged from hospitals.

So far, 54,300 tests have been performed, with a total of 1434 positive persons. Among them, 636 are men and 798 are women.

In the national covid-19 prevalence survey, 1348 samples were taken and 1375 so far responded to an invitation of 3,000 people.
Three infections in Ljutomer

On Thursday, new infections were detected in three different municipalities. At most, three in Ljutomer and one infection each in Ljubljana and Maribor, where a total of 35 infections were confirmed. Most are still infected in Ljubljana, with a total of 250. Otherwise, there are 154 confirmed municipalities, 23 with 10 or more confirmed infections, and 111 with two or more confirmed cases.

On Thursday, 24 patients with covid-19 were treated at the University Clinical Center (UKC) Maribor, nine of whom needed intensive care. One patient died in the second largest hospital, a total of seven.

Six patients with covid-19 were hospitalized at Celje General Hospital at 8 o'clock, two requiring intensive care.

On Thursday, 30 swabs were taken from the Ljutomer Senior Citizens' Home, with two residents positive for the new coronavirus. The total number of infected persons is 126, of which 91 residents, 24 employees and 11 external employees. On Thursday, five residents and three employees were healed. The total number of people being cured is 71, of which 45 are residents and 26 employees, the home explained.

In a national survey on the prevalence of covid-19, 1359 samples were taken and 1375 responded to an invitation of 3,000 people so far.
