Ebola Update July 7, 2014
For the 6th July 2014, a total of 15 samples were received by the Laboratory: Kailahun (7), Kenema (7) and Bo (1).
Six (6) of the 15 samples were laboratory confirmed positive for Ebola, five (5) from Kailahun and one (1) from Bo. Two of the remaining samples are negative while results for 7 samples are pending.
The 2 laboratory pending results yesterday is still under processing in the laboratory
The cumulative number of Laboratory confirmed cases for Ebola is 275 whiles confirmed death is 88
Ninety-two(92) cases are currently admitted at the treatment centers, 56 in Kenema and 36 in Kailahun
The cumulative number of discharged cases is 34
Line listing of contacts and monitoring of case contacts is on-going in districts with confirmed cases
African Minerals Mining Company donated twenty-one million, five hundred thousand Leones (21,500,000) to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to assist with the fight against Ebola disease in the country. The fund is to target interventions in schools across the country. Medical Research Center (MRC) loaned an ambulance to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to assist with the fight against the Ebola Viral Disease in Kailahun district
Franklin Rogers, a Sierra Leonean living in the United Kingdom donated five hundred thousand leones (500,000) towards the fight against the Ebola Viral Disease
