Saskatchewan's COVID-19 update said 55 probable cases of the Omicron variant were being investigated and the province reported a total of 10 cases of the variant.

As of Monday there were 59 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the province's active total to 565.

Over one third — or 35.6 per cent — of the new cases fell into the 20 to 39 age category...

...No deaths were reported on Monday, but 102 people were reported to be in hospital due to the virus. Of those in hospital, 63, or 61.8 per cent, were not fully vaccinated.

There were 32 people reported to be in intensive care. No residents were reported in out-of-province intensive care units...

Saskatchewan confirmed 17 more Omicron variant cases on Tuesday, bringing the province’s total to 82.

Ten of those cases are confirmed and 72 are probable cases detected through screening.

The government also reported 67 more COVID-19 cases and one death...

... Of the new cases, 30 were unvaccinated, two were partially vaccinated and 35 were vaccinated.

Saskatchewan currently has 556 cases considered active, following 75 recoveries.

There are 98 people in hospital related to COVID-19, including 31 patients in intensive care. Of those patients, 58, or 59.2 per cent, were not fully vaccinated...

Saskatchewan reported more than 100 daily new cases for the first time in nearly a month as its Omicron case count continues to rise.

The province saw 105 new cases on Wednesday, the first time the daily tally has cracked 100 since Nov. 26. Another 14 Omicron cases were also detected for a total of 96 in the province to date. This includes 27 confirmed Omicron cases and another 69 probable cases detected through screening.

One more person died after testing positive for COVID-19, bringing the province’s pandemic death toll to 944. The person was in their 60s or 70s. The province does not release specific ages of the deceased.

The seven-day average of daily new cases rose to 68 while active cases rose by 71 to 627 across the province.

There are currently 91 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 30 in ICU...

Saskatchewan added 896 new COVID-19 cases between Dec. 24 and Dec. 28.

The province also reported that 824 Omicron cases have been identified in total – up from 148 on Dec. 23. As of Tuesday, 66 are confirmed and 758 are probable Omicron...

... Broken down by day, there were 205 new cases on Dec. 24, 241 on Dec. 25, 151 on Dec. 26, 137 on Dec. 27, 162 on Dec. 28, according to the government.

There are 1,438 cases considered active – the highest count since Nov. 12...

... An additional 23 Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province were added to the case count.

Of the 162 new cases for Dec. 28, 85 were unvaccinated while 77 were fully vaccinated.

There are 80 people in hospital related to COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, including 16 in intensive care. Of those patients, 47 or 58.8 per cent are not fully vaccinated.

Two more deaths were reported Tuesday, bringing the province’s total to 947...

COVID-19 case numbers continue to rise in Saskatchewan, as the new Omicron variant of the virus continues to spread.

Some 293 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the province, bringing the total number of active cases to 1,645...

...Saskatchewan's seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases was at 200 by Wednesday, or 16.6 new cases per 100,000 people.

Four more residents were reported dead, bumping Sasktchewan's death total to 951 since the pandemic started.

There were 83 people in hospital, which included 68 inpatient hospitalizations and 15 ICU hospitalizations, according to the latest update. About 47 people, or 56.6 per cent, of those in hospital were not fully vaccinated...

Saskatchewan reports highest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases since early October

Saskatchewan officials are reporting 589 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.

That’s the highest single-day increase since Oct. 7, when 650 cases were reported.

With 56 recoveries logged, this brings the province’s active case total up to 2,176.

Four more residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, the province also reported Thursday.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 257 or 21.3 per 100,000 people.

There are 79 people in the hospital with COVID-19, including 14 in intensive care units.

According to Thursday’s update, there are 117 confirmed cases of Omicron and 1,055 probable cases detected through screening...

COVID-19: 735 new cases in Saskatchewan and no reported deaths

askatchewan health officials report no deaths for the last day of the year. There are 735 new cases of COVID-19 reported on Friday, which brings the total to 85,188 reported cases.

Saskatoon region has the highest number of reported confirmed cases for Friday at 286, and Regina has 180 confirmed cases.

Health officials report 300 probable cases of the Omicron variant of concern. The provincial total is 1,355.

Officials report that as of Dec. 31, 79 individuals are hospitalized, including 12 in intensive care. Of the 79 patients, 48 (60.8 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

A total of 527 new cases involve unvaccinated individuals, five are partially vaccinated and 203 are fully vaccinated cases.

There are currently no patients who have been hospitalized due to Omicron but one patient in hospital admitted for non-COVID-19-related health care has tested positive for the variant...

1,954 COVID-19 cases reported in Saskatchewan over 4 days

A total of 1,954 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Saskatchewan over a four-day period.

Single-day case counts were:

623 on Dec. 31, 2021,
607 on Jan. 1,
398 on Jan. 2, and
326 on Jan. 3.

The province last provided an update on Dec. 31...

...The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases increased to 515, 42.7 new cases per 100,000 population...

...Officials reported five new deaths since Dec. 31, 2021, bringing overall COVID-19-related deaths in the province to 960 since the start of the pandemic.

The province said 95 people are currently in hospital for treatment, 51.6 per cent of which were not fully vaccinated.

Of those hospitalized, 11 are in intensive care.

The province said it is changing its hospitalization reporting mechanism this week. It will distinguish between COVID-19 hospitalizations and cases where COVID-19 was diagnosed following hospitalization....

The province has 4,446 cases currently considered active, just over 100 cases shy of Saskatchewan’s active case peak of 4,864 set on Sept. 26...

... Of the new cases, 531 are unvaccinated while six were fully vaccinated.

As of Wednesday, 106 people are in hospital related to COVID-19, including 13 in intensive care. Of those patients, 58 were not fully vaccinated...

Saskatchewan reported record-breaking active and new COVID-19 case counts on Thursday with 913 new cases and 5,235 active cases.

The province’s previous record for new daily cases was 735, reported on Dec. 31. The previous active case record was 4,864, reported on Sept. 26...

... There was one death reported Thursday, a person between 60 and 79 years old.

One-hundred Saskatchewan residents are receiving treatment for COVID-19 in hospital, including 12 people in intensive care. Exactly half of the patients in hospital were not fully vaccinated...
