COVID-19 in Sask.: 1,047 active cases, 150 patients in hospital
Active cases are about 33% of what they were in the province one month ago

Saskatchewan's active COVID-19 case count continues to fall, dropping to 1,047 in the province's report on Sunday — one-third of what it was one month ago.

There were about 3,100 active cases of the virus on Oct. 21, about three times as many as Sunday, according to the province's COVID-19 dashboard.

The province posted 62 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 80,340.

Of the new cases, about one-third are in children under 12 years old who until recently were ineligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. On Friday, Health Canada cleared a Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at a reduced dosage for children aged five to 11.

Canada is expected to receive those vaccines on Sunday.

Of the new cases who were eligible for the vaccine, about two in five were fully vaccinated. Of the total new cases, 42 people were unvaccinated, 18 were fully vaccinated and two were partially vaccinated, the province's COVID-19 dashboard said...

COVID-19: Saskatchewan’s below 1,000 active cases for first time since mid-August

Saskatchewan has not recorded less than 1,000 active COVID-19 cases since August — until Monday.

The provincial government announced one COVID-19 death along with 73 new infections and 121 more recoveries.

However, the province’s active case count fell to 998, which was the first time active cases were below 1,000 since Aug. 14, 2021 when there were 958 active cases...

...According to public health, just over 31 per cent of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39 years, while over 47 per cent of new cases eligible for vaccination were fully vaccinated.

On the hospital front, 152 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. This includes 117 inpatient hospitalizations and 35 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 152 patients, 108 were not fully vaccinated.

There are also eight residents in out-of-province ICUs receiving treatment...

Saskatchewan is reporting 69 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the active case number back above 1,000 to 1,014. Around 1,435 tests were conducted in the last day.

Two new deaths bring Saskatchewan's COVID-19 death total to 914 since the pandemic began.

There are 149 COVID-19 patients in hospital, 34 of which are in the ICU...

...There are now 994 active cases in the province, according to the dashboard. There were no additional deaths reported Wednesday...

...One-third of the new cases reported Wednesday are in the age category of 20 to 39 years, according to the dashboard, and 45 per cent of the new cases eligible for vaccination were fully vaccinated.

There are currently 148 people in Saskatchewan hospitals with COVID-19, 37 of whom are in Saskatchewan ICUs. There are also seven residents receiving care in out-of-province ICUs.

Of the 148 patients in Saskatchewan hospitals, 99 (67 per cent) were not fully vaccinated, the dashboard says...

Saskatchewan reported 96 additional cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, alone with one more death and 96 recoveries...

...The seven-day average of new cases is 95. There are 993 active cases in the province.

According to the provincial government, there are 142 COVID-19 patients in hospital, including 38 in ICU. Of the 142 patients, 98 – or 69 per cent – are not fully vaccinated.

There are six Saskatchewan residents still receiving care in Ontario ICUs...

Saskatchewan reported 108 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, along with the death of another person who had the disease.

Almost one-third of the 108 cases was in children under the age of 12, according to the province's dashboard.

Of the new cases among people age 12 and older, half were in fully vaccinated people.

Since the start of the pandemic, 916 people with COVID-19 have died in the province.

As of Friday, there are 1,017 known active cases in Saskatchewan — 24 more than on Thursday. One month ago, the province reported more than double that with 2,440.

There are 143 people with COVID-19 in hospital in the province as of Friday, including 41 in intensive care units.

According to the dashboard, 65.7 per cent of the 143 hospitalized patients were not fully vaccinated.

Another six people with the disease are being treated in hospitals outside of the province...

The number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Saskatchewan is down, but the province also announced five new deaths from the illness on Saturday.

There were 73 new cases of the disease reported on the province's online dashboard on Saturday — 35 fewer than were reported on Friday and 150 fewer than were reported exactly a month ago.

More than one-third of the new cases (26) were in children under the age of 12, according to the dashboard.

Of the new cases among people age 12 and older, just over half were in fully vaccinated people.

Four of the people with COVID-19 who died were in the 60-79 age group and one person was in the 80-plus age group, according to the province...

The Government of Saskatchewan reported 52 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, along with four new deaths.

There are 898 COVID-19 cases considered active in the province, following 91 more recoveries reported Sunday.

Saskatchewan has 129 people receiving treatment in hospital related to COVID-19, including 36 patients in intensive care. An additional five residents are receiving care in out-of-province ICUs...

Saskatchewan is reporting 49 new cases of COVID-19 and one new death Monday. Forty-five of the new cases are in unvaccinated people.

Active cases in the province dropped by 40, for a total of 858. Eighty-eight people were declared recovered in the last day.

COVID-19 hospitalizations in the province are at 130, with 39 of them in ICU. Of those 130 patients, around 69 per cent are not fully vaccinated.

There are five Saskatchewan residents receiving out of province hospital care who are not included in the province's count...
