Swine Flu claims first life in Kota this year

Swine flu claimed its first victim this year in Kota, Rajasthan with the death of a 30-year-old man at a government hospital, health officials said on Friday.
Narendra Gochar died of swine flu on Thursday while undergoing treatment at Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Kota R.N. Yadav said.
Gochar, a resident of Rangbari slum area in the district, worked as a lab boy at a private Lab in Nayapura area here, he said.

JAIPUR: Swine flu is rearing its ugly head again in Rajasthan, triggered by the sharp fluctuations in temperature. In the past two days, two persons died and three persons tested positive for the H1N1 influenza.

According to the health department figures, a woman, 33, of Bapu Nagar in Jaipur and another person, 31, from Kota died of swine flu. Three persons tested positive for the disease in Tonk, Sikar and Jaipur.

The patient from Jaipur is a resident of Irola in Sambhar area and the person who tested positive in Tonk is a female, 38.

A 30- year- old man has died of H1N1 flu, five days after he was admitted to a hospital, in Kota. Two suspect cases of H1N1 flu, also known as swine flu, are undergoing treatment in the city?s private hospitals.
Narendra Gochar of Kota, who was hospitalised for treatment at the Government Maharao Bhim Singh Hospital, died on Thursday. The Chief Medical and Health Officer of Kota, Dr. R N Yadav, said, after Gochar was diagnosed with H1N1, his family members were put on Tamiflu? an antiviral drug used worldwide to treat H1N1.
In Kota, two persons have been admitted to private hospitals with symptoms of H1N1 flu, which are cold, cough and fever. One of them, a 55-year-old man of Raipura, tested positive for H1N1 flu in a private laboratory but came clean in a test at the Government Medical College Kota, making him a suspect case.


A 75-year-old has also been hospitalised with H1N1 flu symptoms. Dr. Yadav said they were waiting for his test results.
In 2014, of the 64 persons tested positive for H1N1 flu in Rajasthan, 36 persons died. In Kota, there was one H1N1 death last year. Between 2009 and 2014, last year recorded the second lowest H1N1 flu deaths in the state?36. The lowest was 11 in 2011.

Jaipur, Jan 04 (ANI): Two cases of swine flu were registered in a hospital in Jaipur. The administration of Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur came into action where special wards have been opened and a special team of doctors have been deputed to treat swine flu cases. Additional Superintendent of the hospital, Ajit Singh, said that the two cases were registered within a week. Swine flu is caused by the H1N1 virus. H1N1 symptoms are similar to those produced by other influenza viruses - fever, cough, sore throat, body aches and respiratory problems.

According to health officials, a 40-year-old woman, a resident of Char Darwaza, died of swine flu in Jaipur. She was admitted to the Sawai Man Singh hospital on Sunday.

In Jaipur, a 28-year-old woman, who recently gave birth to a baby, succumbed to swine flu at a private hospital.

Yesterday, 30-year-old Rambabu of Jaisinghpura-khor village near here died at a private hospital while 52-year-old Kailash Khandelwal from Dausa died at the SMS hospital, the official said.

The seven months pregnant woman died on Sunday in Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) government hospital in the city.
