Jaipur, Aug 14 (PTI) With a spurt in swine flu cases after the onset of monsoons, Rajasthan government has directed educational institutions in the state to take specific measures to control spread of the deadly virus. Schools have been asked to skip assembly of students for morning prayers and disseminate information regarding symptoms and treatment of influenza A (H1N1)," a senior official said. Swine flu cases on rise, vaccines still awaited

Udaipur(Raj), Aug 24 (PTI) Amid an increase in swine flu cases in Rajasthan''s Udaipur district, authorities today complained of shortage of vaccines. "The Health department has asked for 5000 vaccines from the directorate but was informed that the vaccines are not available right now," Chief Medical Health Officer B L Mishra said. Even last year, only 500 vaccines were provided against a demand for 5000, he said. The vaccines available in the market are very expensive.The nasal spray vaccine which is more in demand is also not easily available, the official said. The available vaccines have an expiry date of August 31.The department has no supply of spray vaccine. The injectable and nasal spray vaccines are sold at a price between Rs 200 to Rs 800, he said. Meanwhile, three more persons tested positive for the H1N1 virus taking the total count of laboratory confirmed cases in the district this year to 32. Two persons have died of the virus.
